Item paid for and gone missing

Not happy i paid for an item on ebay and paid the extra for special delivery , i was suppose to get it Tuesday but no luck ,today no luck, so i emailed seller just to confirm ......he said he sent it and give me a reference number.

But on Royal mail website it says it was delivered Tuesday on time!!

I cant see signature yet as it says wait upto 72 hours.

This as got me really angry as i know i will not be covered by paypal now , wished i just did standard delivery at least i would be covered.

The next street , has same number as me and a similar road name so i knocked on door to ask but no answer so i put a note through.

Do i stand any chance .... im really mad at Royal mail at the moment as this is the second time something as gone missing with them within a month

But i intend to go to the police if still no luck as i shouldnt see why i should lose out.

You can get a copy of the signature from RM. If it isn't yours, you have a case.

Thanks Fay , hold some hope then.....but they could say it could of been someone at my address ...but i live on my own but how would they know?

Sorry im just so worried at losing out as im a student cant afford to buy the item again.

Just has me mad at royal mails incompetence ...just hope if someone has got it by mistake they do the decent thing.

I will ring Royal mail and ask if they can ask the delivery guy about the address he delivered it to.

Don't let it drop. Make sure the seller is completely clued up on your situation - ie. he knows that you live alone, and that it wasn't you that signed.

Things can and often do get mis-delivered. You may yet hear from your neighbour.

I tried my neighbours but nothing they usually take parcels in for me.

its another street which i suspect its gone to as its only the end word of the street which is different to mine ..its hard to explain .

Had courier attempt to deliver to this wrong address before and claim i wasnt in after waiting in all day and i usually have to spend hours chasing it up to :(
  • Ask the seller to send you a scan of the SD receipt so you can make sure they put the right address

what does it actually say on the royalmail website?

it usually gives me an address, or street rather than just been delivered
    money saving my @rse.
I've spent 10x as much as I would if I had never discovered this website :-)

It sounds as if it may have gone to your neighbour in the similar street... no matter what address was written on the package.

That's who I meant when I said your neighbour may yet get back to you. Cross your fingers. Once that signature is processed you can persue it that way if necessary.

can I ask why special delivery isn't covered if you made a claim? (curious not questioning OP)

I think OP is saying that as there has been a signature, it's harder to prove you didn't receive the item, as the tracking info appears valid.
