Issues With free gift delivery.

I have recently purchased a new mobile phone contract with buymobilephones.net.

I have had a contract with them before and had no issues of any kind.

This time round i order a free nintendo wii with my phone and contract. There website clearly states that as an existing customer if i order before 3pm the free gift will come with the phone.

So i ordered it on the 30th december. Admittedly a risky time of the year to want next day delivery. But i had called them up to check the wii was in stock and they said that it was. so i placed the order.

The next day a city link van turned up, but to my disappointment only the phone had come.

So i rang them and all they did was talk out of their backsides to put it nicely and i didnt get any closer to find out why it hadnt come.

I rang them and emailed them later that day and they said that it will be with me on monday 4th of january. i have in writing that its says i will have it on the the 4th. Guess what i had no free wii delivered to my door.

It is now the 11th of january and i still haven't received it.

Basically what i want to know is what can i do about this? general advice really?

Probably nothing, as it is a free gift. So in money terms it is worth nothing being that it is free.

If you ordered on the 30th December and arrived next day, i think you only have 2 days left to cancel your contract (14 days) with buymobilephones.net. Maybe you could ring them and threaten with cancellation.
ANother option could be to get advice from consumer direct.

i see where you are coming from. but it isnt technically free it is tied in with my contract, so i am paying for it to a point.

I think consumer advice is the best call to be honest.

They have told me on many occasions when it will arrive an it still hasn't. Also i shouldn't have to cancel my contract as they shouldn't be advertising something they can't provide. So i think your consumer advice was a good call.

Anyone with any similar experience or any other advice?

I also forgot to add i have emailed them twice in about 4 days yet no reply.

As i said above please any advice on previous experiences with this style of issue? or any general advice as it is nearly 2 weeks late!

It may be free but sale of goods act applies. If they don't supply the Wii then they are in breaech of contract. Suggest you contract Trading Standards (Consumer Direct).

No offense but did you check the documents you recieved in your phone parcel from Buymobilephones.net??
The only reason I ask is because it is their company policy to not send ANY free gift with your phone.
You will recieve the free gift once you have followed their terms & conditions. All you have to do is send the free gift voucher (which is in the documentation in your phone parcel) along with 2 photocopies of i.d via recorded or special delivery & once these are are recieved by mobilephones.net you will get an email when your free gift has been shipped out.
The claims for fre gifts is allowed upto 90 days from the start of your contract too.

Me & my partner have recently ordered phones with free cashback & free gifts with this company & as long as you follow their procedure you shouldn't have any problems.
