  • Thanks for this but the reviews are talking about Pontins at Brean Sands. We would be staying in a lodge or caravan at HRU.

Nope deffinitely reviews for Unity Farm on there. Click on the link and scroll down the page
  • i TOTALLY agree with you Littlesea is much better. brean is ok for a day trip but i wouldnt stay for a few days. there is a fair and a few arcades, and a market on a sun/mon but thats it.

If your looking for a change try Devon Cliffs in Exmouth. its a lovely resort and Exmouth has a lovely beach.

We have been to Devon Cliffs but I really didn't like it. I thought it was scruffy and full of drunks and the beach on site is awfull. The toilets in the entertainment complex were dirty and the floor was always soaking wet. I was not impressed. Littlesea was much nicer as was Primrose Valley and Rockley Park.

Thanks to everyone for your answers, I am now looking at South Wales

Hi can i just ask you when you went to Devon Cliffs ? It's just that i have booked to go to Burnham on sea and my husband booked to go to Devon cliffs the same week !!!! So now we have to cancel one and can't decide where to go. We have heard a few things about Devon cliffs so would be really grateful for any imput you could give us.
We have been told it has gone down hill a little, and our neighbour refers to it as chav central. This worries me a little. Burnham on sea looks nice and relaxing.
    thanks in advance

    Hiya,
We went to Devon Cliffs in August 2008. I have been to many Haven sites and this is definately one I won't be going back to!
Your neighbour is right, the entertainment complex is Chav Central!! There was drunk people all over place at night time. We were in the bar area one night an an argument kicked off about which football match different groups wanted on, too much beer was being drank if you ask me. The toilets in there were disgusting and needed a ripping out IMHO. The adventure golf course there was good, the caravan which we stayed in was lovely and the entertainment acts were great but I hated everything else about the place. Its very hilly there as well and our friends were on the other side of the caravan park and it was a right trek up there!
I have never been to Burnham On Sea so I can't compare but the ones I have been to and would go back to are

    Primrose Valley
    Littlesea
    Rockley Park

    Hope this helps!

  • Hi We have been to HRU a couple of times. Enjoyed them both. The beach isnt great but my kids loved playing in the dunes and if lazy - its a big park - you can park on the beach for a minimal fee. The fair next door is good. You get a free swimming session each day. Pool is good but we didnt get to use the outside pool/slides due to our bad luck with weather! Use tesco vouchers to get wrist bands for the fair and it will keep the kids entertained for a few hours.

Entertainment was no worse than I have seen elsewhere but the clubhouse does get full fairly quickly so worth getting there a bit early and queing to get a good seat. Depending on the time of year there were up to 3 entertainment sites - one next to the fair.

Carboots and markets are nice but agree I didnt think much of Brean town centre. Burnham town was ok but not great.

Worth a visit as I found it a good standard just as good as I have had at Haven if fact when we camped the toilet and shower facilities were spotless much better than Haven.

    Would consider going again.

    hi,
we went to devon cliffs in sept 2008. me, my mum (60) and daughter (2) and had a good time. the pool was great. we didn't go to the beach onsite because the hill was a bit too much for mum to climb back up. we went into town for the beach and it was lovely and a nice promenade to walk along. we thought the entertainment for kids was good. we didn't stay in the entrtainment after 10pm so maybe we missed the 'chavs'?

we also went to haven at burnham-on-sea in may 2009. this is a very relaxing park and area imo. the entertainment room was not as good as devon cliffs but the entrtainment was the same. the park and pool were great. the town didnt have much except lots of charity shops. the beach is ok but not the best and dont go in the water/mud.

we go by train/bus so didn't explore the area for things to do.

i like both parks but i prefer the beach/town at exmouth.

this is only my opinion. everyones idea of a good holiday is different.

I've been to Holiday Resort Unity and Littlesea and Burnham on Sea - we are going back to Burnham on Sea this year for a weekend. We had a lovely hol at HRU but it was the first we'd been on with kids (6 years ago) It was fine for us with a small baby but there wouldn't be enough for us now, from what I remember it doesn't compare to Haven sites. I think the site itself was good and the entertainment seemed ok (although we didn't use it then) but there wasn't anywhere else to go off site. Burnham on Sea is lovely - newly done up and good facilities. Good adventure play area and indoor soft play for kids. Local enough for visiting Brean and Weston for other things such as Sea Life and fair. Staff also really friendly and helpful when we went last year. Would highly recommend. (by the way we went for a weekend near to Easter so wasn't beach weather - can't remember but I think the beach was stoney).
