  • Erm.....hope this won't offend, but I spent a day in Brean once visiting a friend and it was pretty awful; muddy beach, ugly coast, really tacky and also full of Chavs.
Sorry, it's only my opinion. :o

  • Hi there

I went last year with the sun camping promotion and to be honest I would never go back!

The pitch for the tent was a nice size (1st time camping) and we were placed near the toilets etc

The toilets were horrible!!!! At one point I was nearly sick with the state of them, they were hardly ever cleaned and felt dirter after I had a shower than when going in!! so we chose to use the facilities in the nearby fun fair which had the swimming pool.

The womens toilets were also impossible to get into between the hours of 8am and 10am and 4pm - 7 pm ish were usually packed with girls lined up to use the 2 plugs sockets for straightners, hair dryers etc (there were 2 more but didnt seem to work)

Our pitch was also placed near the road which had the resort tram/train go past every 20 mins or so until about 11pm with the bell ringing, which the kids seem to enjoy.

The childrens playground was always full with teenagers and closed at dusk however one day it wasn't even open and no reason as why?!

The club was ok although we only managed to get in once as it was full to the brim.

I cant really comment about the other facilities around the park as we chose to go elsewhere and tried to stay out as much as possible!

To be honest the pictures I had seen beforehand of the park really made it look nice but these can be very deceiving

I would have been very upset if I had paid full price and I am glad I used the promotion!!

    Hope this helps somewhat

Good luck in whatever you decide
  • Just found these reviews...http://www.reviewcentre.com/reviews147411.html.
Although i have never been to Unity Farm, i have been to Brean and would say that there is nothing there! Just a fare and a big hill with something like 10,000 steps lol. I would deffinitely stick to the south if you want lots to do for the family

Polite advice.... stay away from brean sands! its trampy and dirty! And full of scruffs! if you want that area, try weston super mare..... although theres not loads to do there, you can take a day trip to brean sands (there is a fair there)

Thanks for this but the reviews are talking about Pontins at Brean Sands. We would be staying in a lodge or caravan at HRU.

Thanks for your reply, we won't be camping so the toilet thing won't apply to us!!
I am still thinking about it, it's a gamble, they spent some money on it last year and are having a new swimming pool complex built. I am still looking at other options though in the meantime!!

Littlesea is 100 times better than Unity. Having been to both I would go back to Littlesea.

i TOTALLY agree with you Littlesea is much better. brean is ok for a day trip but i wouldnt stay for a few days. there is a fair and a few arcades, and a market on a sun/mon but thats it.

If your looking for a change try Devon Cliffs in Exmouth. its a lovely resort and Exmouth has a lovely beach.
