freeola broadband!

:j Hi can anyone give me any advise on this ISP pro's and con's need to get away from force9 plusnet but don't know where to jump, don't want a contract, this is 3 month's so would suit me for now, how easy is it to leave, as f9 plusnet is a nightmare. thanks in advance for any help, T:confused:

    There's some discussion of Freeola here and here. I think one of those threads mentions that UKFSN offers the same service for £19.99, so you may wish to take advantage of the 3 month discount from Freeola and then migrate. I can't comment on how easy it is to migrate away, but there does seem to be a system in place for this. As I mentioned before, the service itself is very good.

    Thanks for that, I'm very interested in Linux and did'nt realise that you needed different adsl's and bb to run it Duh! been tinkering with it for 18 month's now but could never get it online !!! I know why now. thanks you've been a great help T:rotfl:

    I don't think you need a different Adsl to get online with Linux, currently trying out Puppy2 linux and connected using my normal details.
    I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.

    I don't think that's necessarily true. I've had various dual-boot setups over the past 2-3 years and I've managed to configure mandrake, suse and ubuntu to connect to broadband services from Wanadoo, ADSL4less and/or Freeola. The only difficulty I ever had was in getting hold of and installing the appropriate firmware for my modem.

    Agreed but if you use a basic router you don't need any drivers!
