World cup slowing housing market

Activity levels across the board are down, so whilst I hate to defend estate agents, this does seem to be right - the property market is on stand by until the World Cup finishes - I think I saw an article on this recently about surveys amongst agents during previous tournaments - during the footie, the market falls off, followed by an unsurge in the month after the final whistle...so if you hang on until the end of July, things should start to pick up.0

To blame the world cup is really clutching at straws. Sure, i'm sure there will be a lower number of viewings during the 2hours when England play. But come on... this smacks of desperation.
Last summer we had the Election, the Pope change as excuses.
Have you ever considered people can't afford housing anymore? Sounds more likely to me.0 -
It's not the buyers that are waiting till the world cup ends, it the sellers! We're in a really good position to buy now, but NOTHING has come on the market in the past 4 or 5 weeks. I spoke to an EA today who said it wasn't just the world cup, it was a seasonal thing which she sees every year. I guess everyone it just too busy holidaying and making the most of the lovely weekends to think about DIY and tidying up a house ready for the market.0

Its true feesh, Im gearing up to sell, but tickling up the paintwork and doing those little odd jobs at the moment certainly do not appeal to me - its too hot! Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast :beer:0
