World cup slowing housing market

My place has been on the market for the past 4 weeks, and the viewings have already dried up. I have spoken to the estate agent, and they have said they are really quiet at the moment due to the football (and the good weather) and its nothing to worry about. Is anyone else finding this, or is this estate agent feeding me a line? Or am I just being really impatient?

on our new homes developments the views have been less when england play but up on other games, perhaps the wives coming along with their mates to escape the other games?

Dont know about housing market but certainly all our brands (insurance) have seen a massive drop in quotes coming through - has happened with every world cup.

If people arent bothering to shop around for insurance I am sure they wont be looking at houses either.

we went into our estate agents who showed us their viewings diary, it was amazing how busy they were (consistently) before the world cup compared to now when they are twiddling their thumbs. roll on middle of july...........

Big difference between viewings and potential sales - perhaps the 'tyre kickers' don't turn out when there's anything on the box?

Have to admit, we really want to move, but would not miss the football, mainly England, but will watch all the matches from the next round up.

I agree with this. Im sure same thing happens around Xmas. if you have to move, you have to move - regardless of when it is, and surely you can book viewings around England games???
