Yes, admitedly, I did'nt pay too close attention to the extras when i booked, partly because i wanted to get it booked quickly, and also was thinking that the extras would roughly cost the same as the sun holidays.
Not sure how you can say that they cost roughly the same as the sun holidays though, as I said the DM ones was twice the cost of the Sun holiday last year!
Also, checked online just now , and as it happened, It would have cost me less to book direct!!
Think the DM holidays abroad may work out to be better value than the uk breaks. It will make me more vigilant in future, and check everything before i go ahead and book. Still looking forward to my break though.

I checked my DM holiday direct before booking and I'm saving around £250.

I also checked the service charges and entertainment pass charges between DM and The Sun and there's only pennies to 50p or so difference here and there, the DM one is higher standard of accommodation too.

Received my DM confirmation yesterday and mine is the same price as my Sun one, am still waiting on my sun confirmation and we go 2 weeks today!!

I too am awaiting the Sun paperwork, I go away 12 Feb, expect the charges to be that as listed on the onlite park site page as previously.

That's great Bex, sounds like you've got a real bargain. Hoping the accomadation is nice where we are going
It was fine with the sun holiday but pretty basic.
I would certainly book one of these again (DM hols) Would just do a little more research next time. Was brillant being able to book online, and the website was really user friendly,- unlike the sun one from what i hear.
Do you know when the DM hols run again, or was this a one off?
I fancy trying to bag a few days in a park in France. The sun do it also, but got no chance of getting it, unless you can priority book. Perhaps i'll get a priorty ref next time round:)

Not sure when they run again, but the last one I went on with DM was in October 2009.

Just recieved my DM confirmation letter and the entertainment passes are a massive £42.

We only really want to use the clubhouse for the evening entertainment and probably wouldn't bother with all their other stuff. I phoned Haven and was told I need to buy the passes to get into the clubhouse.

Does anyone know if this is true? I can't really imagine someone checking everyone who walks through the door.

Possibly.

Not haven but the other sites, the passes were only for evening entertainment, but with those sites the passes were optional, which as my kids don't like the evening type entertainment that was fine as they were more than happy with everything else. I think the big parks like Haven, Pontins you have no choice of taking the passes as it covers a lot of on-site activities.

I have been to about 6 haven parks and at every one they have asked to see passes as you go into the entertainment complex in the evening. You will probably however find that you can access the complex during the day without the pass to use arcades etc. We only ever use the pool and sometimes the evening entertainment but when you think about what else the pass covers (not a lot as they charge extra for everything else!!) it's pretty clear why they won't let you into the clubhouse for free & I guess they try to stop locals going in.
