can any1 help me with wot i should be getting

hi all

i am getting ib long term with a income support top up every 2wks and dla every month. The problem i am having is they are taking £86 from me every 2 week as they are saying am getting to much to live on. I recieve £105 per week between ib n is but because they are saying i have to much to live on i am not getting full rent. Is there anything i can do to find out wot i should get.

  • if your IB is being topped up with IS you should be getting full rent??

I think you should double check your entitlement letters to see if you are definately getting IS.

For rent purposes your DLA is completely disregarded so the 105.00 to me sounds like IBLT on its own?? But even then you should get extra premiums for being disabled?

If you have been overpaid it seems £43 a week is an excessive amount to lose??
All hail to the sale!!!!!!

    Who are 'they'?

If you list exactly what benefits you are receiving (and how old you are) we can check the amounts are correct.

Do you live alone (or classed as) ? Does anyone claim carers allowance for you? How old are you?

  • hi thanks for the replys

    am 29

    live on my own

i am on dla every 4 weeks

Disability Living Allowance - mobility lower £18.65
Disability Living Allowance - care middle £47.10

IB long term £89.80 per week payed every 2 weeks
IS top up /Severe Disablement Allowance £49.10 every 2 weeks

housing allowance £332 per month but rent is £400

    before i was getting
IS top up /Severe Disablement Allowance £49.10 every 2 weeks and dla

i was clearing £183 per 2 weeks just on IB
    plus £43 rent per week

i then called dwp 18months as i was told from a welfare rights work that i was not getting the right benfits after speaking to dwp i recieved letters saying that i should be getting income support and Severe Disablement Allowance but because of my age i earn to much and would only recieved £49.10 every 2 weeks for both

also my rent when up to £260 per month they said i would only recieve this as i earned to much once again. Then on the 11th oct they put it up again to £332 i have also tryed for Discretionary Housing Payment for the last 2 year and was told that i was not entitled to this as i recieved dla and this was to cover the extra costs.

i have tryed explaining this best i can no good at explaining thanks
