hi, i'm thinking about changing my broadband but is it worth it?

I'm in virgin media paying £30 a month for phone and broadband, i have no problems with the unlimited broadband. But is there anohther provider out there that can offer me unlimited but without having to pay for the phone?

Just had a look at my bill and im paying,

Line rental £11
BB size L £25
Phone & BB saving -£8

why am i paying £25 for size L when on the website it offers it at £20 and says on its own without phone.

I have rang up in the past and they said that we have to have the phone line and we can't have it cheaper then this. Confussed

Seen offers about Talk-Talk who do a unlimted offerd for £15 a month then £12 for line rental i think it is but not sure if have to be ona BT land-line ?

So if anyone knows of any good offers out there that i might of missed for unlimted broadband please let me know.

Are you on Virgin Media (Cable) or Virgin National (ADSL)?
If you are on Cable (ie BBand comes over the TV Network side & NOT over the phoneline) then you cannot change to another BBand provider as Cable phoneline does not support ADSL BBand, therfore, you would need to get a BT (or similar) phoneline installed.

Then you cant change BBand supplier without getting a BT line installed.Cable phonelines work entirely differently than BT/TT ext.

is it worth me chaging phoneline to seek another broadband deal or is what im paying now not worth the change?

also is it possible to change the account the direct debit comes out of ?

as at the moment it is coming out of my dads but as its me that uses it, he would like it to come out of mine but with the virgin account in his name we don't know if it is possible to do so?

You would have to get a new phoneline installed, which is about £125 for BT, if you dont have a BT point installed (BT cant use VM's line)
If the account's in your dads name,he can change the dd details with VM.
