Diflower - what temperature do you bake them at?Man plans and God laughs...Perhaps travel cannot prevent bigotry. But by demonstrating that all people cry, laugh, eat, worry and die, it introduces the idea that if we try to understand each other, we may even become friends.0

WOW! Thanks everyone.
Definately going to give the cookies a go. Also as we have some cooking apple to use up may attempt the chutney-just one question though does it matter what kind of vinegar you use?
Thanks again peeps.x0 -

Last batch I made I used Sainsburys Basics 13p vinegar and it was lovely so I'd say no, malt vinegar would be fine. I've used that in all my chutneys this year too, apart from one which needed white wine vinegar but if a recipe doesn't specify which vinegar I always use the cheapie one."A cat can have kittens in the oven, but that don't make them biscuits." - Mary Cooper

I hope you liked them as much once cooked:)
I was a bit taken aback last week as OH's boys both liked them, so rather more got eaten than expected, hardly any left for us!
They're lovely with the chocolate on, but I don't often get around to that.0 -
I was going to make some Marrow and Ginger Jam, the recipe stated crystallised ginger, i looked everywhere for it Waitrose, Saino's and Tescos. I couldn't find any. Where do you buy it from? Thanks for any advice.20p savers club

Mine came from Julian Graves, from their nearly-out-of-date bargains.0

I always keep crystalised ginger in the house for sore throats -well, that's my excuse! - but it really seems to do the trick. Much nicer than throat pastilles!0
