help with possible spying on a computer

A friend of mine thinks something is possibly on her computer that is bringing up her information on all the computers in the house.
The system is set up so all the computers in the house are on the same network, they can get a copy of their daughter's information on their computer but she thinks it's been set up on her computer also.
i've told her to check all her icons at the bottom but none look unusual. Also when she goes into goolemail and starts typing her user name, all her info automatically comes up even though she doesn't have it ticked to remember it.
Any ideas what she can do?

"something is possibly on her computer that is bringing up her information on all the computers in the house" - can you describe what?

As I understand it, if you all share one WiFi, in the old days before Windows XP was hardened a bit by recent Service Packs like SP3, anyone could browse the Workgroup then browse files on other computers on the same Workgroup. Nowadays AFAIK, each computer has to explicitly make their folders shared before this can happen. Perhaps others can give more detail on this, as I'm also curious on this point.

You have to set up user permissions when you set up a network otherwise everyone can see everything on any pc connected to the network, it's the basics really.

Google fillimg in your info automatically, go into mail settings and uncheck fill in form data automatically.

What she is saying, as I understand it is, whenever she is on the computer whatever she is looking at or typing can be seen on another computer. He has also admitted to looking though her emails and other information from his computer in his room despite her changing all her email account log-ons and passwords. He set up the network in the house and so has total control really, but she thought the computer in her room was 'safe'.

In that case what he has done is install a keylogger on her pc which records everything she does and sends that info to his PC. If she removes it (and you can) well he's gonna know straight away. I mean what's the situation, father daughter? husband wife? seems a little controlling to me.

It's marrital seperation but still in same house. It's only come about when he mentioned things she'd put in an email to her solicitor.

ohh nasty situation then. I'm guessing he has more technical know how than her so even if she did remove the spying software, he would put it back on. Only way round it is to buy her own laptop and use that instead.

She should take the fuse out of the plug that's at the socket he uses. May not solve the problem for long but should be good fun!

Call the solicitor and have him record the conversation telling him you will be passing him an email with some fake information on it because of the monitoring have a easily missed code word like a misspelt word like e-mal or start the email with something different than dear ...., and then send an email with some alligation that could be concidered a bit suspicious
When he passes the email info to his solicitorm you can use that to further your case and also that kind of monitoring is illegal, Companies that monitor employees this way have to have it in the employees contract they are monitoring emails etc.

spying software she would need to remove BEFORE changing any passwords, emails account password as the software used would send him her keystrokes, so he would therefore know the new passwords.
they are called KEYLOGGERS, should be able to remove from the computer in safe mode using malwarebytes / superantispyware, suggest she uses another computer say a friends to get the information on how to remove, alternatively if the computer is new, use the recovery options and wipe the computer clean, add herself to the network, and make sure she puts a lock on her door so he cant get in when she;s out to reinstall the software.
