Mmmm...crumpets yum - I had some for breakfast!
I like having cheese on crackers on a sunday night, with pickle. Also pickled onions, coleslaw, dips etc.

Congratulations! I just spotted that I got one too - where on earth did it come from? Thank you to the forum gods :jflutterbyuk25 wrote: »Mmmm...crumpets yum - I had some for breakfast!

Oh I am with you on this suggestion - I am a terrible cheese fiend! My all time favourite lazy dinner is a cheese board, crackers, HM bread, chutneys and a green salad. So call it a cheese board or a ploughmans I guess.
Enjoy your Sunday treat!Proud to be dealing with my debt0 -
Felt like doing some baking today as not really the weather to do much else so for tea we have a choice of.... corned beef and potato pie, banana muffins (to use up lots of soft bananas), shortbread, rice pudding and a white loaf.
The inspiration for the pie, bread and shortbread came from my other favourite pastime....the MSE forum:jLess is more0 -
i know you said not sandwhiches but the post reminded me of my sunday tea when i was little and wanted to share. Dad used to make egg mayo but used a dollop of salad cream and a generous sqirt of primula cheese, then get a slice of bread top with lettuce, tom, cucumber and beetroot, top with slice of bread then spread that piece with the egg mayo and put another slice of bread on the top, always cut in triangles (only way i would eat sarnies) they were so yummy. i've got a chilli in the slow cooker and wish i hadnt as i want these now!0

i've got the fire but we are in a smokeless zone, i did once try to toast bread but it gave it a very very odd taste:eek:0 -

I'm often like that after reading these forums!

I love it too!!
Right. Have decided to make fruit scones to have with hm jam so I can keep hold of the cheese we have just in case the heavens do open and we get loads more snow tomorrow.. there's no shortage of jam here!
Now.. off to find a recipe that uses up some of the natural yoghurt I opened yesterday to make naan bread..:D:eek:0 -
Brings back memories of childhood teas for me too - sponges with buttercream - different flavours each week: chocolate, coffee and walnut, plain sponge with raspberry jam! Yum! But we always had sandwiches first......cold Sunday teas now often involve toasted sandwiches (OK so they're hot!), HM cheese scones, HM fairycakes, crisps, tinned fruit and ice cream........December GC: £3500
