Sunday tea treat

Options
Hello all

I fancy making something nice for tea. We've just had a cooked lunch so it will be a cold tea but not sure what I fancy.. just know I don't want sarnies!

Debated cheese scones.. I pretty much have most things in.. :o

What's your fave "curl up in front of the fire watching ski sunday" kind of a treat?

Hot buttered crumpets . Obviously no use if you've got none in or not got ingredients to make them.

Otherwise, your buttered cheesey scones sound absolutely delightful .

Ooh, buttermilk scones spread with fruity jam. Coincidentally I've just taken a batch out of the oven and DH has disappeared with a load of them...

    Welsh rarebit.

Here is a recipe for it, though i tend to use only a few ingredients; grated cheese, a little milk or cream, salt and pepper, mustard powder, chopped onion and a splash of Worcester sauce.

    Totally delicious.

eggy bread (or called french toast sometimes).......basically mix up some eggs, a little milk, seasoning, dip bread in (half slices work well, as thick cut as you can get), and fry off in a little veg oil, making sure pan is hot. Serve with brown or fruity sauce.....mmmmmmm.
welsh rarebit- basically cheese (grated and mixed with a little worcester sauce if you like it, or tabasco if you are a spicy mare!) on toast with a poached egg in the centre of the bread.
little pizzas- spread bread (or a wrap or pitta if you have it) with tom puree (diluted a little), cheese and whatever topping you like (sweet or savoury lol!).
banana toasties- mashed banana, a little brown sugar, and toast either side!
egg and soldiers- don't think I need to explain that lol.
    hth
PS I wanna make cheese scones now!

Or real toast made in front of the fire with butter and jam. :)

Would be perfect, but it's gas. Sigh.

Hmm might have some crumpets in the freezer.. drop scones also sound like a bit of a plan. Might have to put it to the vote. Suspect DD will go for "bubble cheese" (Cheese on toast) if offered and DS will eat his usual naff all  so he doesn't count anyway.

Just been playing out in the snow with a sledge DH built this morning so having a cuppa to warm up before planning any further..
