Carphone warehouse refusing to honour advertised deal.

Hi, can any one advise please. I was on the CPW website this morning and there is a large advert for PAYG mobile Broadband for £18.49 (inc £10 topup reduced from £34.99)
Suits my needs so I tried to buy it but it links through to a deal for £29.99. I rang them up and they said that the deal had finished and the correct price is £29.99, and they would not honour the advertised deal. They put me through to Customer Services where some robotlike person just kept referring to the small print of the T&C s that errors do occur.

Are they correct can they just disclaim anything on the website and use adverts to 'bait the hook 'so to speak? I ve taken a screenshot of the web page and was thinking of speaking to Consumer Direct.

CPW are good at doing this. It could be an error but check back in a few days. If it is still there complain to TS and see if they can get yet another fine !!

Would you be better going direct? as CPW said £29.99 - but also indicated £19.99 as the modem cost but nothing to really indicate which you have to pay on an ongoing basis.

T-Mob site has a similar deal at £19.99 (but is that a one off fee just for the modem stick?)

The pay monthly deals seem to start at around £10 for 18m contract....
    Hope it helps
