Sleep more weigh less in 2010

I did know about this link and while I support that it does help I really don't believe that it is the whole story. I definately eat more when I am tired, but conversely I don't necessarily lose weight when I am well rested.
I do agree that during periods of sleep deprivation are the times I have put most weight on - eg when I had young children, but again they are not the only times.
My DS for example sleeps more than all his peers and weighs more than them!
I am a believer in a holistic approach to health and weight loss (we should have a more holistic approach to health - have you ever tried to mention to your Dr more than 1 symptom at a time? They can't cope and may find that they are actually related if they thought about the whole symptoms!)
I think to be well rested, to eat a healthy diet with enough calories, to get moving a bit more, gradually if you are unused to it and to KEEP GOING, I also take a good multivit, whilst restricitng my diet + a Vit D3 and magnesium and calcium. Will see if 2010 is the year of change. ohh an stress is one of my diet killers.0 -
I also lost a lot of weight in China - but I think that was becuase I was eating less and walking almost all day. However I met some weaterners who had been studying in Beijing and who had all lost weight despite eating a lot (I went for a meal with them, and they did eat a lot, and lots of fried stuff too). Their theory was that the food was so different to what their bodies where used to that their body was not as efficient at digesting it, so didnt get the "full" amout of calories.
I was also shocked at how little some young chinese women ate - a tiny bowl of noodle soup three times a day - no wonder they have so little fat.
Sorry, waffle. I have also heard of the sleep deprivation and weight gain link, in fact I heard about this five years ago.0
