Advent computing has went insolvent **does a little dance**

This company are total ^(&(£$%. Talked OH into taking out finance for learning (silly him eh) and he told them on numerous occasions we just couldn't pay the £150 p/m they wanted. They were total !!!!! over it. We cancelled the DD to them and they only noticed 4 months later, now theres a notice on there website stating they have went insolvent.

They have emailed people stating they can not continue with there course so are technically in breach of there contract.

Feel sorry for all those who paid upfront but so happy that they have got there commupence.

I feel so mean saying that but I have literally been in tears for the last week over them.

On a more positive note, does anyone want a an email with a link to join pinecone surveys? £3 per survey and there pretty simple. PM me your email and ill send it on. Its really hard to find the banners.

Nikki, have had a look at the form, do they actually send you things in the mail for the surveys or is it just online?

my huge dilemma now is do i reinvest or do I pay it off my credit card debt (of which I have a mountain) ... Still undecided. Although so far everything I have sold has been stuff from home and my spare room is still full of bags of stuff to sell... so technically I havent invested my £100 yet!!

Anyway, good luck everyone, it's inspiring to see some of the big totals on here. must update my signature at some point will wait a few days after the ebay paymenst get sorted ;)

Personally I would split it, pay some off your CC and still have some to reinvest. Obviously actual figures would depend on how much you feel you need to pay off your CC/any reinvestment ideas you have. I've been spliting my profit almost half and half like this and the boost you get from paying things off with money you've made from nothing/almost nothing gives you just about as much of a boost as making it in the first place and helps with the motivation to stay on track. Although I still reeeeeally cba to eBay!! :rotfl:

I'm sorry but I have to disagree, take the challenge seriously 'IF' you want it bad enough.......no one else is going to do it for you.
I hear this off lots of people in different walks of life, they always have an excuse for when things don't go to well.I feel I'm wasting my time sometimes.
Decide what you want, take it seriously,it's great lots of you have made friends and share what you're doing for tea.Personally, this is detracting from what this thread was about,if you want to get back and talk about the main ideas etc,etc....then great, but for the sake of many people who dont want to read dribble, please make your minds up !
(Please dont think I'm a killjoy,it's just boring reading all the trash )

ooh what crawled up your a*s and died? If you don't like reading trash then don't read it! I skim read the posts and concentrate on the interesting bits. And besides who is to judge what is useful and what is drivel? Drivel to one is useful to another. I am getting really sick of the catty, nasty, prejudiced people on these forums in general. I thought the people in this thread were better than that!

They send out the surveys online - to your email address.

They can sometimes ask you to test items as well.

turia i would pay it of the credit card personally, especially if you are paying interest.
you still have a bags of stuff to sell so you can work through that and reinvest that money when those things are sold???

thats what im going to do anyway as my credit cards are killing me with the interest and ive still got all kinds to sell....

sorry if thats a bit of waffle it makes sense in my head! ha

They are all online surveys. Once you have completed one, they then send you a £3 set of luncheon vouchers in the post as payment
I only get around 8 surveys per year so it's not a big earner. If you happened to be a less popular demographic(maybe a young man?) you would probably get more.
They do not take up much time though and pay promptly so I think it's worth it. Haven't had a referal email yet but if I do I will let you all know;)

Agreed, I like the chat. Its like a little community who we can talk to and doesn't scoff about our targets. Many people may just need the chattyness etc to make themselves realise that they can do it.

If someones having a bad day they can come on and vent, then others can say 'oh that happened to me and then this happened'.

If the chat stops then I don't think I would find this thread the same.

Personnally I think you guys are great!
  • I agree with the majority on this, most of the forums on MSE are full of people who are arsey about you asking questions and make you feel small and stupid. But this one is full of helpful people and feels dead friendly. Sometimes its nice when your feeling a bit lacking in motivation just to vent on here and then people come back and give you a bit of encouragement. No matter how badly you want it some days/weeks we are all bound to feel run down/lacking motivation/inspiration. It doesn't mean we don't want it - we're just having a bad patch. Jeez!
I'm enjoying reading all the chit chat and i look forward to reading it after work, even though i probably do spend too much time reading and not enough time 'doing'. I would like to say thanks for everyone on here who contributes it all adds to the whole experience!
