Made 62.35 on ebay tonight on 6 things, some of which I acquired for free - feels great doesn't it. Imagine if I can do this every week with just things from the house that I've decluttered.:D They were games for a kids console so I'll be looking out for them next car boot we go to. See I'm cottoning on aren't I?!
My husband gave me his call of duty 2 he's finished with and I noticed that one finished tonight on ebay at 35.00 (that's what we bought it in the shop for new). Can see next weeks total will be even higher that this weeks. So I'm thinking I could bring in a few grand just from doing this if I can keep it up for a year.
Going to try my hand at writing too to earn some money and would like to do mystery shopping too. I'm sure my 10wk old could tag along.:)

Good questions :) I'm thinking of targetting lavish weddings where it's clearer that the party want to "one up the Jones's". I'm thinking of "gift boxes" - not quite sure what to do put in them :p Targetting will be word of mouth and maybe leaflets -before the Summer and maybe a local newspaper?

try hand made sweets - macaroon - scottish style that is

1 tattie - boiled in unsalted water mashed - no butter/milk
    1 box icing sugar
mix together until so stiff cant mix anymore, put into tray leave to dry out overnight cut into small chunks roll in chocolate throw into toasted coconut - voila about 60 chocolates out of 1 tattie

I learned that courage was not the absence of fear, but the triumph over it. The brave man is not he who does not feel afraid, but he who conquers that fear.

    I've been Money Tipped!
Well, so far this challenge doesn't seem to be working for me. The couple of ebay sales have been swallowed up by fees, haven't won anything on BB and didn't even make my table fee back at the book sale yesterday. Back to square 1 at the moment. :(

Keep at it, you will get a change in luck soon! The important thing is to keep going through the tough times (and we will all have them, sooner or later) until you find something that works. January is such a slow month that it is hard to get going

Besides, at the very least, you have learned what things don't sell well and that maybe there aren't enough buyers around the winter carboots to make it worthwhile. There aren't any round here until March but even if there were I can't imagine many buyers would flock there in bad weather

Hold in there it takes time! I was in your position a couple of weeks ago ie any money from sales swallowed up by relist fees for all the other stuff that didn't sell. Just remember its January, people are skint and waiting for pay day! Although this should change this week as its the end of the month, hopefully we all should see a few more sales this week. Just remember no entrepreneur got rich over night! It takes time!
  • I know it's the aim of the game, but I have a complete stress everytime I buy something hoping to resell, just in case it doesn't!! I'm not looking at huge margins resale wise, so it's always a bit on a knife edge!! I had some good sales this evening which have taken my total just over £300. But then I've spent £65 so all todays profits have been spent!!

Think I have enough stock now to get me through the next month, so I've got to stop buying!!!!

  • thanks for the insight into carboots :)

I have spent most of tonight listing some bits and pieces on ebay and most items have already got watchers.

I have also bagged up and weighed my scrap jewellery, have a rough price from Hatton Garden but I'm going to try a local jewellers first to see if they would offer the same.

I also have a little book where I've listed lots of things that I intend to sell, if hubby isn't a little more encouraging he could go on that list too !

Off to see if I can feel inspired to write one more dooyoo review before bed

  • I've got four more dooyoo reviews to write to hit £50. I need some motivation, or a kick up the bum? I just can't find anything to review. I'm lonely and I don't feel very well :(
