    netgear here as well.

    my old netgear router died after getting hit by lightning and i wouldn't hesitate to get another.

    anything with a Belkin badge can be bought unbranded on ebay for less money.

    Netgear on the other hand, are often supplied as ISP's modems - Sky in particular used them for years (may still do, I don't know!).

    both are cheap/budget brands, but both will do the job sufficiently. It just depends on whether you want wider compatibility (Netgear seem to be better at this) or if it's purely down to cost (in which case buy an unbranded Belkin).

    I'd probably go with a Netgear; and the Belkin client wireless software is truly abysmal IME.

    Netgear here as well on my second now, wired only one went for 3 years without a problem and still works, wireless one now for two years also trouble free.

    Netgear if you want something that is likely to work with less problems.

    I don't rate Belkin equipment at all, it often seems to be a case of style over substance/paying for the name.
  • netgear if you want your network to run well, belkin if you want to learn all about fixing problems

    The only thing Belkin are good at is Marketing. IMO there is no comparison between the two, Netgear are a subs of Bay Networks (massive) and know their stuff when it comes to networking.
