  • When you think of TRU you need to remember that this is the store which refused to back Anne Diamond's fundraising for research into cot death on the grounds that they didn't want their name associated with dead babies!!! Mothercare, on the other hand, said how much do you need? Think that tells you where the management is coming from anyway!!

You realise that he was perfectly within his rights to refuse, tea break or not. If he had done his back in whilst helping you, the company would not have helped him... Also, the companys insurance would most likely only cover him instore, if he had been hit by a car whilst helping you he wouldnt have had a leg to stand on.

If he was otherwise rude, you still had a right to complain about that.

Oh, and it wasn't his fault you were pregnant - it's a condition, not an illness. I hope you'll plan better in the future and not decide to go shopping whilst heavily pregnant if you can't hack the pace.[/QUOTE)

to assist a pregnant lady, buying an item for a baby, at a shop solely selling childrens gear.... yes, hmm.

A most unexpected circumstance i agree

grex9101 some of your comments have truly shocked me! You remind me of the sort of person on a bus or a train who would pretend to ignore a heavily pregnant woman standing up rather than offering them your seat

I have only ever shopped at tru/bru once and that was when i was pregnant with my son just over 6 years ago and just their sheer lack of knowledge of their own products was enough to put me off.

Im 37 weeks pregnant and this past week i have spent a good £500 in Argos of all places, their staff were friendly, polite and helpful! Manners dont cost anything in this world!
The first lot of stuff i bought was home delivery only I was at home on my own with my other 2 children when it arrived, the delivery driver bought everything up a box at a time (baring in mind there was 2 wardrobes, 2 chest of drawers, 2 bedside cabinets, a toddler bed, a mattress and a stairgate and i live on the 15th floor of a tower block of flats) On seeing that i was heavily pregnant he bought it all right into my flat and put it where i wanted it so that i didnt have to move it myself and so that my children wouldnt hurt themselves on it. :T
The second lot of stuff my sister drove me to a store in the next town where they had it all in stock as i needed it then and couldnt wait for it to be delivered, again this consisted of several heavy items, including a hoover, another stairgate, and a new stroller for my daughter. My sister stayed in the car pared outside the store with my 2 children while i went in to get the stuff, the staff in argos couldnt have been more helpful! They asked if i would like some help and i told them it was ok my sister was outside the store in the car and she would help me - instead of letting me do this they called another member of staff over who got one of their wheelie trollies loaded it all on and took it out to the car for me, not only that they also insisted on loading the car up for us too! :T

Top marks to Argos for this past week! It doesnt take much to be polite and well mannered, and it certainly doesnt cost anything! A shop such as TRU/BRU who solely sell chldrens/baby items majority of which are big and bulky should be going out of their way to help pregnant women its called good customer service and its what keeps the consumer going back to them.

And as for the comment 'Oh, and it wasn't his fault you were pregnant - it's a condition, not an illness. I hope you'll plan better in the future and not decide to go shopping whilst heavily pregnant if you can't hack the pace.'

Going shopping for heavy/bulky items in early in pregnancy or infact at any point during pregnancy does certainly not make it anymore safer or easier to do. In fact in earlier pregnancy it can increase the risk of miscarraige if you are lifting heavy items

Maybe the whole world should stop reproducing then maybe you would be happy  Then again maybe not because you would have nothing to complain about would you

We all came into this world as a result of someone being pregnant, and that's something to remember.

You might not have said all men but your post implied it. Also just a little word of advice, capitals usually mean SHOUTING on a forum. It is hard to read and can get peoples backs up.
