Looking at a new contract & phone and fancy the nokia 5800 or 5530 with virgin for £18 a month inc internet (maybe £10 and use 30p/day internet).

Which of these is better / what's the difference? Or is there something else I should look at?

Nokia 5800 is superior than 5530.
    The main difference is

Nokia 5800 has 3G (helps fast internet when you browse) and 5530 is only 2G....

if I were you given a choice to chose between these two phones, I would blindly pick Nokia 5800.
  • Nokia 5800 also have GPS.
  • I got myself a 5530 last week... It's fab, the touchscreen is smooth, yes it lacks 3g, but then i live in the stick and never get any 3g coverage unless i'm in town - I have wifi on it instead which is great if i'm out for a coffee (i can use free wifi hotspots) and saves time when i'm at home. battery life isn't too shoddy either i've gotten 3 days out of it so far, using it every day which is a lot better than my viewty i had in the past.
  • My brother had a Nokia 5800, after only having it about 2 months it developed a fault and would not allow him to send any text messages or open any he had received
Just me, in my own little world

I have nokia 5800 for 10 months now. Never had a problem with it whatsoever. I upgrade teh firmware as and when a new one is out.
My mobile got dropped twice on a wooden floor (once bounced too) still nothing happened. Would recommend Nokia 5800.
