BT Free connection deal: 10 chargeable calls per month - from which line?!

Hi all,
I've just taken out a new BT line with BT total broadband.
I've got free connection, providing I make 10 chargeable calls per month.
My only problem is, I've got 2 lines now (VOIP and normal). With which line will I have to make these calls? The landline, the internet phone or both?!
Anyone any ideas, let me know!

Please note: I am NOT Martin Lewis, just somebody else called Martyn that likes money saving!

Id say the calls should be placed from the land line.
I can only assume you took bt broadband out as well to get a voip phone with bt.
But it seams the calls need to be placed from the land line.
Im sure someone will be along in a minute to correct me if I am wrong.
Not often im wrong though:D0 -
Its actually at least 10 chargeable or inclusive calls per month, and its from the line you have free connection on,your main BT Line.0

An interesting question. Technically, your new BT line has a number associated with it. The 10 chargeable calls have to come from that number. The Broadband Talk number is a different number so doesn't count.0 -

The calls have to be through the normal landline connection (can be charged or inclusive) broadband talk calls do not count.
If your on unlimited weekend plan then just make the free calls at the weekend on your normal land line or if you have a hub phone press 5 when dialing out to access the landline from the hub phone at weekends to make the 10 calls.(the dial tone changes when you press 5 so you will know what line your using)0 -

How do you know that ? At the very least he can make inclusive calls for up to 60 minutes a time to 01/02/03 0845/0870 numbers at the weekend.
A simple way to fulfil this requirement if your on the weekend plan is by calling the speaking clock on 020 7043 1320 Saturday or Sunday .0 -
I don't follow that logic but, as he'll be on (at least) the Unlimited Weekend Plan so making ten 01/02/03/0845/0870 calls of less than 60 minutes each at the weekend (at no cost) is a no-brainer.JustPassingBy wrote: »As per the T&C, but Money_saving_Martyn is very unlikely to be making any inclusive calls, so from that perspective he would have to make the 10 chargeable calls.Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Calls to 01/02/03/0845/0870 numbers are chargeable at any time, including weekends of course, so they are covered by the first part of the T&C. Which raises the question as to which calls "inclusive" refers to.
To have "inclusive" mean "calls to 01/02/03/0845/0870 numbers made at weekends" would add nothing. It would be a superfluous word to include in the T&C. Which implies it has another meaning in the context it is used in and that meaning can only encompass non-chargeable calls.
By "inclusive" BT mean a non-chargeable call which is included in a call plan. If Money_saving_Martyn is on the Unlimited Weekend Plan he is unable to make an inclusive call. On the other two plans he would require a text enabled phone or device.0 -
We've been around the semantics route numerous times and it's quite obvious that different people will continue to take different views. Being on the Unlimited Weekend Plan, I decided long ago that I would just refer to calls which I can make for no charge (weekend calls of up to 60 minutes each to UK 01, 02, 03, 0845 and 0870 numbers) as inclusive calls.
Whether they're 'chargeable' but not charged because of the Plan I'm on or whatever I don't really care. All I know is I use the 1280 prefix to hop off my CPS and back onto BT for those calls at weekends, I don't pay anything for them and they count as the 2 or more calls I have to make to get Caller Display free.Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Sorry, I missed your post first time round.
There are no inclusive calls (in the BT use of the word in the context we are considering) on the Unlimited Weekend Plan. You have listed chargeable calls. Please see post #9.0
