Taybrite / smokless fuels - not hot enough?

I hope the mods won't mind, but I'm starting a separate thread on the issue of Taybrite as the question of its suitability for use with stainless steel liners has been raised and I want to make sure that anyone searching the web for the facts abut it can easily find an answer.
The short version is that, according to the Solid Fuel Association, it's fine - but there are some very interesting caveats with regard to smokeless fuels generally, which I'll expand on.0
