Morning. Bored of Poole here. Another day, another ice rink outside  I will have to go out today, I haven't been out for the last 3 days. Keep telling ex I can't get to him to take out Charlie (he's not working so he's walking him twice a day) but I really need to be brave as I'm back at work Monday and so I need to venture out to get an idea of how bad the side roads are from me to the main road.

Morning
Still very icy and slippery pavements here. I haven't been out since Tuesday!!
Probably won't go out today or tomorrow either, because I don't need to go anywhere especially, but will need to go into work next week on Monday or Tuesday I suppose.OD [STRIKE] £2600 [/STRIKE] £0 :j Loan [STRIKE]£9500.00[/STRIKE] £0 :j Car [STRIKE]£3150[/STRIKE] £0 :j Moving Costs [STRIKE]£1300[/STRIKE] £0 :j Savings £1150 :j

Just did a 14 mile round trip which took 20 mins each way to find that the garage we have booked the car in is closed due to the weather. I guess its just one of those things.
Just having scrambled eggs with tinned salmon before I venture out again to buy some heaters and take DS1 to get his hair cut (he looks like cousin IT now as its been 6 months since he had it cut last)
After that its PJ's and hot water bottles out for the rest of the day.But these things take time, I know that I'm, the most inept that ever stepped.0 -
Well the met office were right about one thing, the wind that's whipping across the channel at the moment is just so cold it hurts. Whatever is following it in the way of snow will be nasty. It's really trying very hard to snow, gets to the almost blizzard stage and then stops, the winds then picking up all the fresh dry stuff and sandblasting everything with it...nice.
My cupboards are looking very bare so really going to have to be inventive over the next couple of days, I dare not venture into town, if I slip and break something then we're up the creek. DD2 has an upset stomach and looks like death warmed up, DD1 has a streaming cold and hacking cough...
On the bright side I get to watch our local fox and her cubs slipping and scampering down the woody hill at the back of our house....so lovely to see the little ones bounding through the snow."Start every day off with a smile and get it over with" - W. C. Field.0 -
Have been to Asda and now have a chilli in the SC, thanks Webitha
Also bought some butter and bread flour so I can start using the BM again.

Do you think that maybe you could catch them on camera Pooky, I love foxes:T We have a very friendly robin in our garden who keeps perching on the windowsil and having a good nose in the living room. But these things take time, I know that I'm, the most inept that ever stepped.0 -
I've given up for a moment on writing this pesky essay - the bloody neighbour's making lots of banging and drilling noises. Oh where I'd love to stick that drill right now.
:D
Also their dog is barking non stop. ARGH.
Deep breaths!
Though I've got to say I'd rather hear drilling then squeeky springs on the bed/sofa that I had last weekend.0 -
Lou-I have a perspex bird house/feeder that attaches to the lounge window-so once they get used to it you can have a real close encounter-it's fab! Right now the Blue Tits,Great Tits and Robins are forming an orderely queue...they wait on the washing line till whoevers feeding flies off, then they all move up a space....Debt-free...and staying that way...0

I miss having a garden and the wildlife, I've put out bird seed and a suet feast (in a special hanger) on my balcony but they've not found them yet, anyone know how long it takes for them to find the food? x"Nobody made a greater mistake than he who did nothing because he could only do a little." Nothing worse than hearing the neighbours at it..........except for hearing your parents at it that is:eek:
