Will Blackberry free messenger work on Orange PAYG?

I would like to get a Blackberry, mostly to make use of the Blackberry messanger. I currently have an Orange PAYG sim on Dolphin and wonder if I will be able to use it with an Orange BB or will I have to subscribe to some BB service too?

i believe you'll need the bis service at a fiver a month. not 100% sure though for payg.
