advice please for sending cash to Spain

I need to send a 100 euros cash to Spain for deposit on holiday..can I send the cash in a letter by Royal Mail? as my UK Bank transfer charges are very high for such a small amount of Euros...someone suggested Airsure . as being the cheapest way..anyone tried them?

    You can if you trust the Spanish Postal system, personally I wouldn't.

    No it doesn't. Banks do - but they are still £10 fee upwards

    Sending it International Recorded (£4 or so fee) is usually safe, and it's insured up to £100 to most countries (including Spain)

    Airsure is similar but more expensive. The only advantage is that it 'aims' to be a day quicker.

    you can transfer money straight into their account with tescos - you need to go to a store that has the tescos direct desk and you can do it from there, they charge £3 to do it and the exchange rate is excellent, you just tell them how many euros you want the person to recieve and they will sort it all out

    Bank fees for electronic payments into the EU and EEA are covered by an EU directive and should be a lot less than charges for payments to other parts of the world. £10 charge for eur 100 payment is about the going rate for most UK banks.

    You would probably save a couple of quid buying a foreign draft, or could you pay by credit card or paypal? Personally for that smallish amount I would send cash euros by recorded delivery or similar and "take a chance".

    Hi everyone (update)

    I decided to send 100 euros cash in a letter using Airsure..it was delivered within 5 days...the tracking system was excellent..it cost me £5.30 so I'm quite pleased...tried Tesco (re poe.tuesday) unfortunately the Tesco's in our area don't offer this service...You have all been very kind..thanks again

    PS: I would use Airsure again..
