No reception for two weeks, any advice? (New network?)
I've not had any reception on my O2 mobile for over two weeks (in fact the whole area has been without it!) This is clearly been a pain especially over new year.
I called O2 today and they informed me that they are aware of the problem, and that they may fix it but they have no time scale for the issue being resolved.
I'm at the point now where I have to make other arrangements. I'm going to have to switch network for now and have a few questions, Are there any networks which offer short contracts (30 days or so) with unlimited or 'unlimited' data? or any good PAYT deals with unlimited or 'unlimited' data?
Also, does anyone know if it is possible to suspend my contract with O2 until the issues are resolved? (Not trying to get out of contract time, just put it on hold)

See http://www.connectotel.com/marcus/ceoemail.html for e-mail addresses of chief executives for various companies including O2 UK:

Write politely, explain the predicament and see if they can give you a date when local service may be resumed as well as some compensation for loss of service in and around your home address.0 -
Eeep - that totally sucks
Have you reviewed your contract with them to see if they have any standards of service? or expected limitations to their service (ie they won't be held accountable for loss of service blagh blagh)
I think Delta's suggestion above is a good bet although it may still take a while to get resolved.
I guess that if for example you lived in the upper reaches of Wales / Scotland and an antennae did a face plant on a hill and with it being snowy they couldn't get to it loss of service with no current ETA could be understandable...
Hope you can get it sorted mate.
As for an alternative PAYG I'm sure there are others with more experience, my suggestion would be to scout round the usual sites - I use Omio .com and you can search for Sim only deals - after a quick look I saw a Virgin £22 600minn, unlimited txt & web access with 1month term... its worth shopping round
Hope it helps
