Hi, I have purchased a laptop through the dell home section and the laptop is a consumer laptop and not one advertised in the business section. Now the problem is I ordered through my company business card and to deliver to my business company address but before I submitted the order, it clearly stated that :" By completing this order you are representing that your purchase is for personal use."

Now I have requested an order cancellation and I am worried that they might apply their business terms and conditions and refuse a refund.

Basically the one I ordered was a mistake , so I sent a cancellation email and ordered another one with slighlty different specs and I also mentioned that in the email. Simply, I want to cancel one and keep the other.

Please could you throw me some light on this and how dell may take this further. Thanks

Dongelfan, this place is awash with people who delight in other peoples misery.

I'd do as your credit card company advise and refuse the delivery.

Zandoni, did you notice that Donglelfan was expecting his delivery over six months ago? ;)

foysal007, please start a new thread and don't add your problem to the end of 2 old threads.

Why are you all saying I misrepresented myself?
Like I said, I spoke to a Dell rep before placing this order, and asked if it was OK for a private user to purchase a unit from the business section.

Because all these guys probably work for Dell!:shhh: I have to say I am having your exact problem and though I informed Dell I am canceling my order before they had time to process my specific details they refused to cancel. I have sunk in to a kafkaesque hell that it seems many Dell customers find themselves.

I will refuse delivery, Yes, because even though I said I was canceling the order they have still sent the product....how insane is that!:mad::mad:

2 new members, joined today and both resurrecting old threads to slag of Dell. Uncanny ;)
  • Well I'm in the same situation. Placed an order with Dell via their business site for a customer of mine. the customer has now changed their mind and I called Dell the next day to cancel the order.

Dell refuse to cancel the order becuase I ordered through their business website! Thats really good business practice for a reseller like myself! What a bloody joke.

    AVOID DELL

Well you said it yourself, you're a business customer, not a consumer, so you're rights to cancel is limited. Something you should really know full well being a reseller after all. Not really Dell's fault for following standard business practice.

Unlike the OP, you are a business and as such you are bound to accept the order.
