Hello.
Im thinking about getting this to clear out all the junk on my registry, has anybody on here used it or can recommend an alternative, paid for or free.
I would value your opinions on this.
Thankyou.

there is a train of thought that you should not use reg cleaners as they can create more problems than they cure0

Try Ccleaner, it's free and does a decent job. I've used it for several years and never had a problem. It does give you the option to back up the registry first. It's my problem, it's my problem
If I feel the need to hide
And it's my problem if I have no friends
And feel I want to die0 -
I agree with both the above answers. Dont use a reg cleaner unless you have a genuine problem to fix (And even then its advised not to run one)
CCLEANER is the safest I know of though, which thousands use regularly:idea:0 -
I concur with the excellent http://www.ccleaner.com/ ; but be very careful with the registry clean option; and backup and then backup.0

iObit advanced system care free is also very good - I have been safely using it for a few years. https://www.iobit.com0

OUCH, for the price of £29.95 for a program that only does the registry think i would buy Tuneup-utilties 2010 for the extra 4p £29.99 which will not only clean your registry, will defrag your harddrive, optimise your computer

You can download and try it for 30days, then just remove it, if you dont like it.
personally i like it.0 -

Anotherr vote for CCleaner, and Glary Utilities......Gettin' There, Wherever There is......
I have a dodgy "i" key, so ignore spelling errors due to "i" issues, ...I blame Apple0 -
Regseeker has always been ok for me, I use it after deleting progs and don't even use the backup option. Many years ago I did have probs with a reg cleaner but don't remember which. I guess modern os is not so vulnerable.
Don't think you'll see any difference tho' - new install is best bet.0 -
and Glary Utilities
...again, I concur; an excellent piece of software :cool:0
