well no not really as you never mentioned if you were actively looking for work offline ... how is the job hunting coming along ? being out of work since july is a heck of a long time .. what sort of work are you looking for ?

surveys and clicks take forever, dooyoo seems to be ok if you like writing a lot for reviews, decluttering the house and selling on ebay/amazon/ebid/etsy/folksy/play.com is probably a quicker way, not to mention car boot sales for the stuff you cant shift

have a hunt in this section of the forum for more ideas which there are TONS of

Hi, if its not too personal a question, what was your previous jobs/work and skills experience? There are certain avenues of online money-making / freelance employment for many skillsets and could reap a higher payment than the no-experience/skill required avenues like surveys etc.

But for just a breakdown of the threads you'll see here there are:
Surveys, Reviewing (e.g. slicethepie for music, dooyoo/ciao etc. for products), Cashback (after making pruchases), Daily Clicks (related to cashback sites but before purhcases I hear), paid posting (e.g. myLot), sales (e.g. Avon, PhoenixTrader etc.). Best to scour back through the pages and pick up on the hotter threads for certain things. These are just the things I've seen pop up as popular threads from browsing around and haven't really tried them yet myself. But from what I hear they are more to supplement an income rather than be an income, a few quid on the side etc. So if you could let us know some of your skills or things you like to do, hopefully someone can think up something more substantial given your current situation.

Best of luck whatever you do.

signing on is not just about them going "oh there's nothing on our system for you", it's about you looking on their system twice a day and seeing for yourself what vacancies there are and applying for them

so you've got chef, I.T. and admin experience but cant find a job on I.o.W ? have you thought about relocating to mainland UK to widen your choices and chances of getting a job ?
  • tbh if you are depending on the jobcentre to find you a job then you could be unemployed for a long time.

you have internet so start searching all the job sites, sending c.vs, writing letters, calling employers even visiting in person. apply for lots of jobs, even if its not your ideal job. at least it will get some money coming in.
