thanks for your advice mate but ill have you know my car is perfectly servicable (oooh errr) and likes nothing better than a good ragging down a country lane with me in my 33 year old birthday suit

And as for you and your bus station, if i was trawling round 'your space' pretending to be a 13 year old boy Im sure you would be the first to offer me a ride in your new car
    :p

What would be handy is a list of online insurers who ask if you've had a CLAIM in the last 3 years rather than an ACCIDENT.

My wife was stopped in stationary traffic on the motorway when a car drove into the back of our car. Only low speed but broke the rear bumper. The other guy's insurance company arranged for a garage to collect our car to be repaired and dropped off a courtesy car. However, we were OBLIGED to report the accident to Admiral which we did but no claim was made and the NCD was not affected.

However, the next renewal they upped the premium by nearly £200 because we'd had an accident! Now, me and my wife had both been insured by admiral for over 10 years - coincidentally from way before we'd even met and had two cars with them on their multicar policy. I spoke to their customer services and pressed the point vigorously that there was no claim or loss to Admiral but they wouldn't have it. So, as a result of their hiking the price up, I went wth Privilege and my wife with Sheila's Wheels and with the aid of some cashback we got down to lower than Admiral by some way. Admiral basically lost two long term loyal customers who had never made any claim against the in over 20 years of insurance. They even wrote to me asking why we'd left and I told them.

But the other point is, the reason we insured my wife with SW was because their online quoting system requests details of any CLAIMS and not accidents in the last three years so the answer could truthfully be no. I know Aviva also requests details of claims in the last 4 years, so again, the answer can truthfully be no.

I don't know when you got your quote from Sheila's Wheels but looking at their present question set, the question is worded:

"Do you have any motoring claims, accidents or losses in the last 3 years?"

Then if you click the "?" icon next to the question it states "We need to know about any motoring claims, accidents or losses including damage, fire or theft, irrespective of fault or the car you were driving".

Likewise with Aviva. The question is worded:

"Have you made a claim in the last 4 years? *"

Again if you click the "i" icon next to the question it states (I have added the emboldening to the text):

"Please enter the details of any claims made in the past 4 years. If any driver on this policy has had more than 5 claims in the past 4 years please contact us on 0800 092 9561 to complete your quotation. This includes non-fault claims where you were not held liable and you made a full recovery from the third party"

I hope that nobody on this forum has taken your very inaccurate suggestions seriously.
