Managers working from home in bad weather

Just a thought, I read the initial post and felt my bllood boil
I am a manager and over the snow period for three days only myself and another manager made it in, we ran the service and even checked homeless clients were safe.
some of my staff (not all - most were wonderful) claimed excuses like - my gardener has told me my drive is too slippery, i felt a bit feint and many others, didnt bother.
As a manager I feel the buck stops with me and I have to deliver a service some of my staff banked on me being in.
However for one single day after my car being stuck in a snowdrift, having to hike to my mother in laws and sleep on her floor - literally, one of my staff claimed she had had to do my job for that day and it was unfair of mwe
it would be nice for people not to be arrogant and assume that they know what is happening for a manager -
we are people too you know"I havent failed, Ive found 10,000 ways that dont work" Thomas Edison

most of those in our office are wishing they hadn't bothered working (or shirking as it has become known in our office) from home during the snow as all those who didn't bother getting out of bed have been given full pay, guess it works both ways!0

Alternatively, perhaps he can be trusted to actually do the job from his home, while you (and others) maybe are infamous for your workshy attitude and propensity for long, lingering fag-and-facebook breaks (after all, you're posting on this message board in what I assume are normal working hours for the majority of us?) if you're not in the office being supervised while you do the job you're paid for?
