How do I format Memory Card Nokia 6500 slide??

Can someone tell me how to format my memory card so I can put music on my phone please??
Found on another forum to use #7380# but it tells me result unknown.

Hi Bobs,
Go to settings and then you see memory with logo.
go to that and click option and then you get format memory card format option.
Click it and starting format your memo.

profiles
themes
tones
display
date/time
shortcuts
sync/backup
connectivity
call
phone
enhancements
config
security
reset factory settings


Can find memory card listed anywhere (tho probably missed it) and it def has a memory card in it.

It's been a while since I've done it and no longer have the phone but I'm wondering whether the phone is reading the card ?????
If it doesn't see it then it won't show up ...if you follow what I mean
You could format it on a PC if you have a card reader but that wouldn't help if the phone doesn't see the card

maybe thats whats wrong - have had the phone ages and only deciding now to put music on!! Dont have a card reader for the small memory cards.
Have found on Gallery list below received files a file called (66de788c- .....
when i open it is empty - what would this be ?

Hi Bobs,
It's the file that tells the PC that it's a music device so that it will sync etc.
It overwrites each time you connect I think
