                    Hi,
I'm after some advice, I am pregnant at the minute and already have a two year old, she will be two years and nine months when the new baby arrives. I was wondering if you parents out there feel I will need a double buggy, if so would you recoommend this one?
I like to go out for walks and i feel the only way I will manage with two children is with a double buggy, but people keep telling me I wont need one. What do you think?
Thnaks in advance

IMO wether you will need a double buggy will depend on what your older child is like. I know my toddler does not like to walk for long periods, and would run off given a chance. Although he has only just turned 2. I also have a baby at 6 months.
I first started off with the Jane powertwin, and would not recommend this. It was bulky and very heavy to push.
I then bought the Phil and Ted, which I would highly recommend. Its so much easier to manouvere and push than the Jane.
TBH I wasnt keen on the cocoon option as I felt like I was shelving DD into a compartment and couldnt really see her. She was practically 6 months when I got the P&T so now I just put her under the main seat in the double kit and she loves it.
My main concern would be that she wouldnt have much of a view in there, but its the opposite and she loves looking round, and I have a perfect view of what both of them are up to.
 Good luck and congratulations.0

I dont have two kids (first baby on the way)
But have friends with children your daughters age, I dont think you will need a double buggy, I think you will be ok with a pram/buggy for baby with a step that clips on the back for your daughter to stand on if she gets tired of walking?Debt £30,823.48/£44,856.56 ~ 06/02/21 - 31.28% Paid OffMortgage (01/04/09 - 01/07/39)

There is 2 years 9 months between my 2 and we needed a double buggy. I walk a lot, on average 6 miles a day and he could never manage that. I don't think even a buggy board would have been any good as that is a long time to stand.
I didn't have the buggy you are talking about but my friend does and she loves it. I had a Mamas and papas twin aria and it was awful Sealed Pot Challenge Member NO. 853 :j0 Sealed Pot Challenge Member NO. 853 :j0

Whether you need one probably depends on how much walking you do and how far your toddler will happily walk. I still use a double regularly even though DD1 is now 3.5 as I don't drive and have to walk a lot in all weathers. DD1 sometimes walks quite far but she does still get tired sometimes and if it's pouring she likes to go in it.
I have a Jane Powertwin and have been very happy with it, I've had it for a year and a half.0

I think some kind of carrying option is necessary. A double stroller, a buggy board, a buggypod or a sling will be required. I have all the latter 3 and really wish I'd got the former 1 from the start. Now I feel it's too expensive, too late in the day... so I make do without. 0 0

Joseph will be two and a half and apart from anything else I do believe I will need to carry a lot of just in case stuff (like spare clothing in case J finds a fountain ). Which is what the extra seat will be for. He's an excellent walker - can do it for hours.... but NEVER in the direction we're going in, so for my sanity I have the P&T buggy on my wish list. I have a nearly five year old nephew and he always wants to sit in the buggy, so I can't take his parents ("Joseph won't need one" blah blah) seriously.
Now I just need to find someone who can explain P&T buggies to me - their website explains nothing!:wall:0

Absolutely depends on the older child and how far you regularly walk. My DD was exactly the same age as your LO when my second child was born, we didn't need a double because she was a very independent walker and we usually travelled by car. My younger boy (now 3) is lazy and also would have to do a school run walk morning and afternoon - we would definitely need double for him if we had another child.0

As others have said, it depends on your child.
There's almost 2 1/2 years between my youngest two, but we needed the P&T for school runs mostly. The storage on it in double mode is rubbish, so I also needed two buggy bag clips & the panniers! It wasn't a cheap purchase, but 1 year on we are still using it. The resale value on them is good, I got a good deal with help from here (I think mothercare 1/3 off & a few codes ) & hope that one day my middle child will learn to walk in the direction I want him to, & I can sell it & buy myself nice shoes instead ) & hope that one day my middle child will learn to walk in the direction I want him to, & I can sell it & buy myself nice shoes instead
It's been fab in this weather - really easy to push in the thick snow & now on the ice, & had the dual purpose of keeping me upright too.0

Thanks for all your help, Agutka, I know what you mean about the phil and teds buggy, I'm trying to do my research to calculate the 'all in' cost for all the extras required (even though I'm not entirely sure what these are) and I want it as cheap as possible!0

can't advise on buggies, i had my twins 14 years ago, but right from the start i hated the bouble buggy, too heavy and bulky. one baby in a sling, other in single buggy. once they could walk, they took it in turns one walking one sat. at the age of two, both could and did walk miles every day. i say it depends how much your older child likes walkingenjoy life, we only get one chance at it:)0
