As indicated above, to be only paying a total of £274 a year for Gas/electricity on BG's expensive standard tariff is unbelievably low - about a quarter of the UK average.

Whilst you have been sending in readings and a meter reader has called, are you sure those readings are being used? Sometimes, if the computer 'thinks' those readings are wrong, it ignores them and uses an estimated reading. So I would check the meter reading on your last bill corresponds with your actual reading. I would also check the meter serial number to ensure that it is your meter being used.

It's definitely our meter. There was a mix up with postcodes when we moved in but it got sorted out months ago.

There is only two of us in a flat, as I said in the middle of three floors so we don't need to use the heating much.

However electric is not dependant on heating, and you are probably using about 1,000kWh a year.

TVs, computer, fridge/freezer, washing machine, dishwasher, dryer, kettle etc

    How do you heat water?

We only use one tele really, for about two hours a day/night. Washing machine maybe three times a week, dishwasher-no.

I understand the bill seems low but as I say we give readings and they take their own readings, I don't see how there can be a !!!! up. We've lived here over a year, hopefully we are just low users?!

Just noticed Quidco if you get the websaver 5 tariff on there you get £30 cashback. Does anyone know if that would work for me even though i'm an existing customer on their normal deal (not an online based tariff).

I am with BG for both fuels however i was on Prepayment up until monday when i had my meter changed:T I signed up to the websaver 5 tariff but went through topcashback using uswitch and £23 tracked :D so try that way, i just hope it confirms:beer:

I used Quidco and it has already validated £15 for British Gas.

Makes up some f the dough I 'lost' when booking a holiday, realising I could have got £35 cashback. Not happy!
