I reckon January Blues happen because we're forced to slow down and then our inner voice has a chance to pop up and remind us we aren't living the life we want. When all the hurry and scurry stops we realise we've been letting our busyness cloud the fact we're not happy.

I get it after holidays, bank Holidays and after Christmas.

I still haven't got my !!!! into gear to work with any focus yet so far this week (I'm self-employed) and it's driving me nuts. I am literally just hanging around moping. I spent ALL day yesterday on this bloomin' forum! I could scream at the moment.

Took on an Usborne Books franchise. Start up fee was £19 and I just worked my bum off for first three months and earnt minimum thatI needed but I built the business up and now earn a full time money for less hours.

Don't know about brave - stupid and niave, but glad I did it!

I would love to be my own boss. Caroline73, any tips?

Actually, I would just love a different job that paid as much as mine but more enjoyable/worthwhile - or to win the lottery!!!

Find something you love and work around that. I love books and reading with my children. I bought some books for my little one and Usborne we're advertising so I thought I'd give it a go. Three years later, I'm on good money, work from home when I want to, have been on trips to Miami, Mexico, france and hopefully Iceland next year (paid for by Usborne!)

    Or keep trying with thelottery!

I'm at Uni full time studying my Masters. Went to stay with my parents for two weeks over Christmas and loved being back sooo much. It made me really sad to come back to Uni, and be away from family. I think i'm coming to realise I'm doing a subject which is waaay to difficult for me and have been so down since. I reckon it's just January blues maybe and i'll be ok soon. I hope! :(
