you MUST send it recorded.
Agree with everything else apart from this. It must be sent via a reliable online trackable method. Recorded delivery is not reliable. Many times it simply doesn't track and whilst the item may well have been delivered, it can still show on RM's website as being processed forever!
If it doesn't show as delivered, you won't get your refund.

Jasmineswhiskers the coat is VERY heavy and I would think the postage was correct.
I have offered to send a photograph if she lets me have her email addy, but she is still insisting that the coat was in perfect condition.
I have just received an email from her offering £7.50 refund, so am I best going with this option, to save anymore hassle0 -
Tell her you are considering her offer but need to find out how much the repair is going to cost.0
