There is a letter parrot you can send. There will probably be one on MSE, but I know there is one on http://www.consumeractiongroup.co.uk
I started to think last night. If I get made redundant, the payoff would probably all but clear my secured loan - infact, it might clear it altogether, as my outstanding amount will be lower than is in my signature at the moment. But of course my OH doesn't know about it and I'm not going to tell him.
If I did pay off the loan and was DF, I would need about £1000 a month plus food money. That would pay the mortgage/Council Tax/water etc. If I leave and don't have a job to go to, and then use all the money to pay off the loan, I would only have AQA to support me, which would be a hard 7 day a week slog. I could get a part time job though I suppose, just doing anything and then top it up with AQA.
I then started to think - should I use some of the redundancy money - maybe £3,000 (a figure purely plucked from the air) to make an over payment and bring my DFD much closer?
Or just see how I go doing as much AQA as possible, get a part time job if needed and top up a little with the redundancy each month until I get a full time job.
Didn't sleep well last night and I look shattered. Felt a bit worried about work today and Cruella. Don't know why, I just felt I had to get to work to do as much as possible so she couldn't have a go at me.......sigh......0 -

Hi OM
Just my 2p, but I think I would not pay anything off to start with, just to see how things went in getting alternative employment.
You know that you can earn a decent sum on AQA to help tide you over, but methinks that if things get to this point that you should take some 'time out' to work out what it is you want to do in terms of a career and maybe dip your toes into making money from cooking..? Or trying things you've maybe always wondered about??
Also, re your OH - I recently had to have THE conversation with my husband, about how unhappy I was about our relationship etc etc. I can hand on heart say it was the single most difficult thing I've had to do, but boy, the feelings of relief I felt aftewards were amazing. :j
I hope you don't think I'm talking out of the line, but you know you deserve to be treated better than he treats you - maybe its time to have that conversation too...?
Best wishes in everything!! :beer:0 -
I had a bit of that for a few years, saying I looked like the side of a lorry, kissed like a trout and other things, He decided he wasnt happy, I told him to leave for a while and he ran off with someone else, I suppose he didnt have much respect for me
anyway.

Hey 119Parrot! I am claiming from Barclaycard! I got a letter saying that "due to huge demand for similar requests BLAH...BLAH...BLAH" and thought that they would stall. As it turns out, they arrived after 44 days so only 4 days late! They are such w***ers though - they will send them with a letter saying how they are not obliged to convert them from microfiche and that they are doing you this massive favour! BLEURGH! It's vomotous!
They will respondI found out that before adding the 8% interest, they owe me £505! Hoooray!
Hope this all helps.

Hello O_M.
Can I just ask a quick question about bank charges? I am about to send my claim letter to Barclaycard (yipee) but on another forum someone said that I shouldn't be claiming interest at this stage and that you can only add it at the court claim stage. But I downloaded the with interest template from the MSE site so I though it was ok?
Can you clarify for me? Is it best to claim interest now or wait?

Claim the 8% interest at the court claim stage. For the preliminary and the letter before action stage, don't add the 8%. HTH
I've sent my letter to the Judge about Citi's non-compliance and I've asked for judgement. They were supposed to send me full disclosure by the 8th March and then I had until the 29th to reply. Surprise, surprise, no documentation from them.
I've also had the first piece of paperwork from Northampton Court for the £340 I've just started claiming from Abbey for the bits and pieces that got missed off the other claims.
All in, I'm still waiting for nearly £900 in charges to be returned - not to be sniffed at!0 -
Hey OM,
How was work today with Godzilla?

She tried a little to be a bit obstructive, but overall seems a bit 'tamed'. No doubt she is still thinking of ways to trip me up, but nothing has worked so far. Probably won't see her tomorrow and although i'll see her briefly on Wednesday she is then on holiday until after Easter -hurrah!!!!
Someone had told her I had emailed the Directors etc (another Director I guess who probably asked about me saying I was going) and she gave a snide grin as she asked if I'd had any replies. I replied I hadn't as I had only sent it out Friday, but just shrugged. I expect she thinks I am desparate to stay in some way, but if only she knew what was waiting for her as soon as I escape!0 -

Does that mean you've decided then?
Also don't forget, you'll get dole when you leave - based on your contributions. When that runs out (assuming you don't get another job), it will depend on how much savings you have as to whether you'll get anything. Hint: make sure you have less savings than the limit.
After a certain period of time after that, you will get your mortgage interest paid.
I guess you will need to take a careful look at the benefit situation and make sure AQA pays more than it deprives you."Follow the money!" - Deepthroat (AKA William Mark Felt Sr - Associate Director of the FBI)

As ZTD says you will get contribution based Jobseekers for 6 months.Better than nothing.
