Bad news I'm afraid. I have just spoken with the ministry of justice whom I have a case with against Seven Marketing since September 2009. They got a letter back from Seven Marketing stating that their intention to stop trading and therefore volunatarily surrendering their registration with them.
Down goes my £275.0 -
I too got taken by them. I contacted MOJ and this is the response I got
Thank you for your email regarding xxxxxxxx xxxxxx xx Ltd and x xxxxxxxx x Ltd.
As you are probably aware, neither of these businesses are regulated by the Ministry of Justice. If they continue to operate a claims management business, they will be doing so unlawfully.
The information you have provided will be assessed, and the appropriate action taken in line with our Enforcement Policy.
So much for that!!!
I read somewhere they have started a new business, probably with all the money we gave them.
Hopefully we have all learn't from this experience.
Cheers

Business Name: 7 Marketing Address: Exchange Buildings
Adelaide Street Town/City: Swansea Postcode: SA1 1SB County: West Glam
Trading Names: Consumer Advice UK Sectors: Financial products/services, Personal Injury, Status: Authorisation Voluntarily Surrendered
Is this the correct business here. Surely if it is then these business's are allowed to actually open up, scam money, close voluntary and then reopen.... so much for ever being regulated in the first place. There must be more you can do????
Have you thought of trading standards? Surely these companies cannot open with the same directors? What about the OFT?
At least they were on the data protection register
http://www.ico.gov.uk/ESDWebPages/DoSearch.asp
BUT they have not informed companies house they have stopped trading

I found this posting on another site.
Consumer Advice UK was a trading style of 7 Marketing which has ceased trading.
I became suspicious of Consumer Advice UK towards the end of 2009 when certain things they were saying to me didn’t quite add up.
Point in case: - I was contacted on 22 November 2009 by a representative of Consumer Advice UK saying that the Supreme Court had ruled favourably for consumers regarding excessive bank fees and that if I paid £100 now they would be able to claim back on all these fees for me. This was the RED FLAG for me - I knew that the ruling wasn’t due until 26 November 2009.
This led me to do some research on this company.
Originally Consumer Advice UK was acting as a call centre for Blue Sky Financial Claims based at Preston. Blue Sky was the processing company for the PPI Claims. However, I was told that Consumer Advice UK saw an opportunity to do the processing themselves, breaking away from Blue Sky and souring relations with them. This led to the website of Consumer Advice UK being suspended by Blue Sky who owned the rights to the website.
Consumer Advice UK then worked with Chatwins Solicitors based in Swansea who would make legal representation on behalf of Consumer Advice UK clients. I recently contacted Chatwins Solicitors and I was advised that Consumer Advice UK is no longer on their panel of referrals.
I understand that many people have paid large sums of money to Consumer Advice UK in order to claim PPI back from credit lenders. I would therefore recommend that you contact Chatwins to establish whether you are on their database. If so they may be able to act directly on your behalf.
Unfortunately I was not on their database, contrary to what I had been told by Consumer Advice UK.
The owners of 7 marketing are still operating other businesses in the area. So don’t be surprised if they pop up again under a different name.
7 Financial Services
Meridian Bay Ltd
7 Leisure (Wales) Ltd – is currently in administration
1 Leisure UK Ltd
2 Leisure UK Ltd
7 Leisure (2007) - Dormant
8 Leisure UK Ltd
In closing I would like to remind everybody that Consumer Advice UK was registered with the Ministry of Justice, Claims Management Regulation, Registration Number CRM 11995. I would encourage you to contact the Ministry of Justice and report your experience of Consumer Advice UK to them.
I have also found an online article in the South West Wales Evening Post who ran an story as recently as 15 January 2010 on 7 Marketing and other associated businesses. It’s worth a read.
It may be worth contacting the legal firm to see if you are on their database. All may not be lost.

hi
If you paid for there services on a credit card you may be covered under section 75. use martin's letter template0 -
I'm actually really fortunate. I paid £100 on my credit card for part of the payment so I believe I'm covered for the remaining £199 that I paid from my main account. Unfortunately for Barclays they'll have to cough up but then banks owe us enough as it is - so I don't really feel bad about it.
I can't believe companies like 7 marketing and Consumer Advice UK can just roll up and slink off to wherever they want to go. Their managing directors can take the money and run then start up a new business.
I thought they brought in a law to put a stop to this sort of thing? There's just no justice for hard working people is there....0 -

!. are they registered with MoJ
2. always go 'no win - no fee'
3. NEVER pay an upfront fee !!!!!
4. be careful of those who say they can get your credit agreement revoked - the law in this area seems to be VERY iffy !!0 -
I wrote to Sion Morgan the local journalist and reported my experience and all of these findings... hopefully someone else will take up the reins and report these crooks to the proper authorities. Shouldn't they be behind bars for a trick like this? I can't imagine the number of people that have been taken in by these scamsters.
Using the whole regulated shroud to make a bucketload of money out of us all.0 -

What about Watchdog - is this business definately defunct you couldn't start a County Court claim against them ? What about the Police - surely this is fraud, if there were a limited company all the directors and their home addresses will be listed on Companies House0 -
I found out that the parent company the root of it all is Seven Leisure... I hear that they're opening a lap dancing club in Swansea...
Search on wwwdotthisissouthwalesdotcodotuk
for Seven Leisure Lap Dancing and you'll see a link to an article written on 26th Jan 10
Titled "Fantasy lap dancing club bid Swansea takes step closer to reality"
I won't be trusting any business just because it's regulated in the future without making the proper checks first... I certainly won't be handing over my hard earned cash. Once bitten twice....
Glad to see my money is well spent!!0
