Ultimately it is just down to luck, but you increase your chances the more you enter. Enter as many comps as you possibly can. You say that you have "done a lot" but how many would you consider "a lot"?? If you can average around 100 a day (and there really are that many a day available just on here as I average 115 comps a day) you can get, on average, a couple prizes a week. It only takes me about 2 hours (spread throughout the day) to enter this many comps.
I entered over 3,000 comps in December (including advent competitions) and from 1st December up to today I have won 15 fantastic prizes worth over £700.

In my whole time of comping I haven't actually won any prizes that have a value of more than £300, but I do really appreciate every single win I've received. Some of my favourite wins have actually been low value items (i.e. lipstick or music cd's). I'm hoping a biggie will come my way one day though! An ITV cash win would be fab (Note to comping fairy: I hope you happen to be reading this)!!! :D:D

    - Make sure your details are up to date and correct when you enter.

    - Look for competitions that require a tie-breaker, effort or a photo. These are likely to have less entries.

    - Look for competitions that are specifically for your local area (radio, magazines, newspapers etc).

    - Take advantage of competitions that allow multiple entries (unlimited, daily entry, 5 entries per phone number etc)

    - Try a bit of comping karma! Give something back and you'll get something back in return. Find new competitions, help with answers, congratulate winners etc

    - RELAX! Comping is supposed to be a fun hobby. Enjoy doing it and if it feels like a chore it's probably not for you.

    GOOD LUCK

I would say that some people are definately luckier than others, I don't know why, its just the way it is. Comping seems to have become more popular than ever and wins cans be hard to come by , but its definately not hopeless and fantastic wins are possible.
Try and give yourself a better chance by entering some that require effort, these attract less entrants and so you are more likely to win. Most of my biggish wins have come from effort required comps. It can be fun doing the photos, writing the stories or making up the tie breakers.
Also, I agree get involved in the comping Karma I swear by it. If you get involved in finding and posting some comps and helping others with answers and seeing others win from your posts, what goes around may well come around. Its more enjoyable and rewarding in more ways than one. If you don't think there are enough comps on here for you to enter, don't sit and wait for others to find them for you , go and hunt for some share what you find. Hope your luck improves and you get the wins you want.
Many thanks to the wonderful staff at Birmingham Childrens Hospital caring for my tiny and very poorly grandson who was born at 29 weeks. Thanks to them he is getting a little stronger every day.:A:A:A

I think you are probably not entering enough 30 a day is not many at all. There are about 10 new pages of comps posted on here every day and 20 threads a page so that is 200 not even including the dailys, monthlies and postals etc.. I would say get roboform if you haven't already as you can enter more comps faster.

I won a pop up bar the other day and still waiting for it come as we have to do it up and then enter to win £500.

I enter as many as I can which can be about 50+ a day but this depends if my hubby want to go on the computer as he says I hog it far too much. I also keep a spread sheet with everyting I enter and daily I highlight which have finished.

I have autofill on mine but it doesn't always work.

I have noticed that some comps which I've done via email have been deleted without been read as I get a reply back telling me and to be honest this is annoying and I will be sending an email to ipc caravan mag as surely what is the point of me entering if they don't even read them.

Fingers crossed in next month some of us with few wins will start winning.

I often feel the same, I read what others have won and I enter comps every day and hardly get a thing but every now and then I get something (usually just as I am about to give up entering so much)

    :dance:Carry on Comping
