out of all the toys that my children had when they were little, playmobile is the only one that we have kept - it is so well made and is timeless; a real investment that children just love to play with. Such a shame Boots didn't get the toys to you.0

Thank you for all who have offered such kind words and suggestions. I have ordered a Noah's Ark at a bargain price (via the suggested offers of the day site) and have also fired off an email of complaint to boots.
I have made enquiries about the "damaged box" sale with playmobil directly and they have added me to their mailing list for the next one.
Enjoy the rest of the snowy weekend folks!0 -
Rosewhite sorry to hear about boots, think we have all experienced this from m&s boots etc in the past and it is very disapointing I know.
Hope that boots reply to you and even if you manage to get something from them as a good will guesture.New York ♥..........These street will make you feel brand new, Big lights will inspire you.
No place in the world that can compare ♥ 2nd October 2010 ♥0 -
It's gutting when something like this happens. Most of us reply on these sales to buy gifts to save money or it means the gifts don't get purchased at all. Not that it's the end of the world, but to a child who has been wishing for a certain toy for ages it can be a massive disappointment and i don't think trying to avoid disappointment makes the child spoilt at all. Anywho, i say if you can afford it why not! Not that it's anyone elses beeswax anyway.
And i don't think £200 worth of Playmobile actually buys you alot of toys. It's a pricey brand so i understand the op's frustration.
I managed to get all of my Christmas gifts by one or two for my family and friends in the Boots sale. Thank goodness as it saves so much money.
I also think Boots should have given you something as a gesture of goodwill. It wasn't like you were just purchasing a bottle of shampoo, you intended to spend a large amount of money.0 -
Such a shame about your order there are still some bit on WHsmiths but not as good as Boots was. Just been on Boots site for something else and they have put the pirate island and the grit lorry back on for half price not sure if that helps but thought should post!0

Grr it's infuriating when you think the birthday is all sorted and then something like this happens - I'd be fuming too.
I'm kinding of hoping my little ones don't get into Playmobil as it's so expensivethough I loved it as a child and still have some of mine in the back of a cupboard somewhere lol. It was a bit more basic then though (I'm 36
).
Glad to hear you've found some birthday bargains now, I'm sure your boy will be thrilled.0 -
Rosewhite - Do you know anyone with a costco card and are you anywhere near one?
I have jsut come back from costco and they had the playmobile police station at approx £23 inc vat. They have got what toys they had from christmas at really good prices.
Really hope you can benefit from this.0
