Gutted with Boots Sale

I ordered loads of playmobil (all half price) totalling £110 as soon as the Boots sale started on the 24/12 for my little boys birthday soon. I get his pressies on there every year, it's a fantastic sale and the only place I know of where playmobil comes cheap.
Well, the parcel was due to arrive yesterday and when it didn't I thought it was just the snow however after checking my boots account today it said order cancelled! I rang them, they were very helful and said they would investigate immediately with their IT dept as could not tell why the order said cancelled when it clearly showed that I had checked out/paid (or so I thought) by paypal and selected a delivery date and was later emailed confirmation.
They have just telephoned back and said that their IT department have advised the order was entered without an address (even though an order I made 2 days later on the same account arrived ok!!) . I questioned this and explained that (a) you cannot process an order without an address and (b) it all went through and let me get to paypal where I "paid". The response was that because of loads of people being on line the order may have progressed with errors????
I was invited to reorder but of course every single item is now out of stock so I have one sad little boy on his birthday.
Nothing i can do I know but just wanted to moan out loud and suggest that if anyone is thinking wherabouts their boots order has got to - check your account!

What ashame for your little boy on his birthday.
I looked on offer of the day.co.uk and if you put in playmobil there are a lot of offers come up. I tried to post the link but it wouldn't come out right.

Frighteningly £220 doesn't get you a huge amount when you are talking Playmobil. Also they may be purchasing it for other people to give as well, I actually buy all the presents for my children from both sets of grandparents and some of the aunts and uncles.0 -
What a shame
There is another thread running about Debenhams not honouring an order and I know M&S are guilty of it too"Very funny, Scotty. Now beam down my clothes."
All truth goes through three stages. First, it is ridiculed. Then, it is violently opposed. Finally, it is accepted as self-evident.0 -
Thanks all (well nearly all) for your kind suggestions/comments. You are quite correct I was buying on behalf of others as well.
Iamana - if perhaps you knew how poorly my son has been in the last year you would quite understand why I choose to buy him a bit more than a pack of tesco value felt tips for his birthday... (not that there is anything wrong with those felt tips).
I am sure all parents/carers with playmobil would agree it's not just the kids who get the enjoyment!!0 -

Big difference between a packet of felt tips and £200+ of planet-polluting plastic!
Still, at least he'll have fun for an hour, eh. :rolleyes:I was born too late, into a world that doesn't care

Have to say we (parents, grandparents and aunts and uncles) spent a small fortune on Playmobil for my two who got about 5 yrs extensive play with it. It s now all boxed in sets in the loft ready for possible grandchildren ourselves (or indeed anyone else who could use it in the family).
The same has now been repeated with Lego and at 9 and 11 they still play for hours with it.
MONEY WELL SPENT!!!! AND IT IS BEING RECYCLED.If only I could stop finding good bargains on this site, I would save a fortune! :rotfl:0 -
I totally agree! My order included some of the Egyptian set which can only supplement their learning/knowledge of the world as well.0
