Should I accept this offer?

Hi, I recently wrote to Sainsbury's asking for my credit card charges to be refunded to me plus interest(the charges were £175). In the same letter I requested £1400 plus interest back as they were charging me for PPI on this credit card that I never asked for and never signed for on the credit agreement.
They have sent me a letter today stating that they will refund me £91 (the difference between what I was charged and twelve pounds that they now charge). They say this is a full and final settlement.
Should I accept this and will they deal with the PPI separately? Or are they hoping that I accept their money and then I cannot claim the PPI back?
Thanks

Be careful - the £91 seems reasonable for the fees - although you should ask for interest at your card rate from when the fees were charged too.
If you clearly have a credit agreement without PPI then you should be safe on that one. Did you apply online though for your card? In which case PPI might have been included by default and you were required to uncheck the box.
At this stage I would suggest writing to them acknowledging the letter, requesting interest be added to the fee element and asking them for the PPI refund again.
Good luck

Thank you. I was thinking of accepting their offer but I will ask for interest and see what they say. and also ask about the PPI and if they are treating that complaint separately. I have 8 weeks to reply, if I question their offer, will that count as a reply?0

they do state that refunds of interest will not be considered.0

They do consider refunds of interest and have paid interest on credit card charges. A lot of people fight for the full amount of charges plus interest.
The PPI claim is separate from bank charges. Hold out for the full amount and interest.
But the decision is yours. Please ignore those people who post on this forum who deliberately try to misinform you. Don't be bullied by them, don't be blamed by them. You know who I mean.

So they charge you fees in the past, charge you high rates of interest on them, acknowledge that the fees are too high and that you are due a refund but 'will not consider' refunds of interest.
Hmmm - I'd challenge them on that one - if it goes as far as the ombudsman (which will cost them money) - you will get the interest - so don't take their word for it in my view.
Good luck

So you asked for £1400 plus interest and they've offered you a measely £91?
Was your initial claim so wildly overcooked or did you really want and expect £1400 plus interest to be refunded? If you think you had a good claim originally, what has changed?

Hi, you have misunderstood my post. I asked for 175 pounds in charges and 1400 in PPI, The letter they sent mention the charges and offered me 91 pounds. It did not mention anything about the PPI. Thank you to everyone who has been kind enough to reply and as a result I will be writing to them asking about the PPI and asking for the interest on the charges to be refunded aswell.0

i will stand up for premier here i think he is merely getting the OP to consider his argument again.
If he was so confident to pursue the claim in the first place for 1400 then i agree why accept less than 10%?
If your sure of your figures, the interest you have added is at 8% and you can prove they owe this then STICK TO YOUR GUNS MATE!!!
same goes for the charges tho if the interest is at 8% and you can prove they owe it dont accept this joke of an offer0 -
I am not going to accept this as a final offer. I may have accepted it for the charges and the charges alone but not anymore. I am still going to fight for my PPI to be refunded, that 1400 pounds is mine, and I will fight to get it.0

I think they are treating the charges and the PPI separately. But I will send a letter to see if this is the case. They never mentioned anything about the PPI in the letter.0
