Urgent: Possible Carpet Rip Off

but you weren't bothered about underlay before
if they said 6mm you would have been fine?0 -
You misunderstand. I'm not saying that they're using Cloud 9 by mistake, what I was referring to is the genuine mistake of stating the Cosi is 9mm rather than 8mm or 10mm, after all they fit that many I'd imagine it's an easy mistake to make.jostenning wrote: »it's not cloud 9 as I uplifted the stair carpet and left the existing cloud 9 down on there as it felt like good quality.0 -

I'm no expert, but it seems that Cloud 9 does come in a 9mm depth
Why don't you ring the store and ask them to confirm what you've paid for. Get the brand name and the depth so you can check what's actually laid.Warning ..... I'm a peri-menopausal axe-wielding maniac

What does it matter.
Your getting underlay. You didnt ask or pay for a specific brand.
You shouldnt have ripped up the grippers. They have refitted them to their ability.
Tbh it does sound like you want to try and scam them now the works done.
There is very little about underlay online. its quite possible 9mm Cosi does exist for trade only - this aside its irrelevent as they could put the nastiest cheapest underlay down and still give what you ordered.0 -
Perhaps the OP is concerned they will give her 6mm which (thanks to google) she has just found out is carp, and is looking for a way out.0

For your info. the work hasn't been done - materials have just been dropped off at my house and they are coming back tomorrow to fit - I have measured the roll of underlay at lunchtime and it turned out to be 8 mil and I KNOW cosi don't do a 9 mil as I just emailed the company, it's 6, 8 and 10.
I came on here for support and advice, not to be accused of being a scammer.
I hope you get the same level of understanding from others next time you're going through a very difficult time.0 -
I suppose, to make sure it's done to your spec. you need to be there when it's laid yourself."If you think it's expensive to hire a professional to do the job, wait until you hire an amateur." -- Red Adair0

lol a difficult time. whats difficult about ordering underlay and getting underlay.
You need to get a grip.
You ordered underlay and are getting underlay. If you wanted 9mm or whatever you should have ordered it.
Let them fit your carpets and keep your unknowledgable nose out of it.0 -
thank you, at least I got a chance to nip home and check the materials before they were fitted.0
-
If by a difficult time, you mean in your personal life,I am sure no one on here would want to make that worse. Its just that you have been somewhat unclear in what you wanted.Anyway,I hope the carpet looks great and I wish you a better new year.0
