Obviously we are all at a loss on this - I have managed to transfer a piddling £500 from Creation to my Asda Card with no problem whatsoever . Any more info gratefully received (I was told originally by Asda that it was an IT problem).
Thanaks for all these answers anyway

yeah I had no toruble transferring £500 from HBOS to Asda, but not £2000 from Egg to Asda. Actually, I think I am going to write an official letter to Asda and get to the bottom of this. I'll let you know if/when I get a response :-)

I dont understand, how can I transfer a credit card balance to my current account??

I have just spoken to ASDA customer services, and they say that it is a technical error and to call back in 7-10 days, I reminded them that I tried to make the transfer 4-5 months back in October and this "technical error" was still in place. She couldnt really tell me anything, just to call back in 7-10 days, so I shall do that and if not resolved make an official complaint.

I expect that once it is fixed they will honour the 0% still, if you tell them it was 0% when you tried to make the transfer and that it isnt your fault there was a technical error and that the 0% had finished by the time they had fixed it.

If you're stoozing do you have any other cards you could transfer your Egg balance to? i.e. temporarily for a month, then transfer to Asda (check they accept transfers from the spare card)..?

Hi, Im not stoozing, Im trying to get my £2000 18% Egg card balance onto a 0% card. All my other cards have 0% balances so if I put it onto my Capital One card and then to Asda, they would just transfer the cheapest debt at 0% to Asda and keep the expensive debt.

Thing is the ASDA 0% has run out now, as it had to be done within a month of opening the card, which I tried to do but couldnt cos of this error. Im not sure if they would let me transfer Egg to my HBOS card, then to Asda - although I guess its worth asking - thanks!

    Sorry, wasn't paying enough attention!

If you transfer to Cap 1, and then to Asda (assuming they honour the 0%), then you would transfer the whole debt, nothing expensive for Cap1 to hold on to, surely?

Sorry if I'm missing the point again! :o

  • But I have £6000 already on my capital one card (running at 0%), if I then put £2000 onto Capital One from Egg and transferred £2000 from Capital One to Asda, they would send the 0% debt to Asda leaving the £2000 egg debt on the Capital One card at 15%. I couldnt transfer the whole Capital One debt to Asda as my Cap1 limit is £8,000 and my Asda one only £2600 :-(

Heck its complicated isnt it!! LOL x
