Sky- vouchers!

Hiya.

Has anyone had any success with receiving promised Vouchers after complaining to SKY Head Office.

I took out Sky contract on Sept 18th 0 and eagerly waited for my £50.00 vouchers to spend at Tesco, which I was told would be within 3 weeks.

After numerous phone calls to Sky, I was fobbed off with all sorts of excuses but assured they would be with me as they has been processed.

They replied to my E mail on the 4th Nov , vouchers are taking a while longer, but will soon arrive.
Replied to my E mail 14th Dec , would I accept M&S vouchers instead of Tesco, I immediately replied, Yes this would be fine.

Replied to my E mail 6th Jan, They have just raised the order for the vouchers and they will be with me within 28 days!

I am now thinking of writing to the H.O. in Middlesex.

I think I will be wasting my time, has anyone had to go this far or had to wait so long for their vouchers?

I am going to ring Consumers this morning to get more info on my rights.
Will keep you posted.

I have contacted Consumer Council who told me to write to the H.O. getting proof of postage and say that they are in breach of contract. and giving them 7 days with which to ensure the vouchers has been received by myself.

How are they in breach of contract, Can you show me where in the contract it says new customers get £50 of vouchers?

We had problems with Sky too. After cancelling four separate orders and giving us various different stories, we eventually gave up trying to subscribe to the Sky TV/phone/broadband package deal and just subscribed to the TV package instead.

By the time they actually processed our fifth order several weeks later, the offer had changed from a £50 Tesco voucher to a £25 Marks & Spencer voucher so we lost out on £25. OH even had to chase them for this, but it finally arrived just before Christmas.

Good luck renegade, I hope you manage to get things resolved. :o
Time may be a great healer, but it's a lousy beautician.... :/
  • Not sure if this is a record, but we purchased Sky for the in-laws a few years ago and it took us 18 months to get Sky to send us M&S vouchers at the time.

Typical excuse was that they were our of stock!?! A voucher, why couldn't they just buy more. Perhaps M&S only do voucher runs every 12 months!

Best of luck, but if you keep persevering, calling and writing I am sure you will eventually get them.

Of course you could always call up and say you're considering canceling your subscription.

    Best of luck.
  • I had the same problem with Sky, if you go their contact centre and choose the cancellation option and explain that you are cancelling because they are in breach of contract by not providing the vouchers. They will respond very quickly and send the vouchers but only if they think you are serious. I got my vouchers then after 12 months cancelled my subscription as I wasn't prepared to put up with their terrible customer service.
  • Took us about 3 months to get our £50 M&S vouchers from Sky.

It was advertised on the internet for a start. Then because I had decided to go with Sky and not other providers was because I wanted the £50.00 vouchers, that according to the Consumer, is a verbal contract to which they are bound.

I have said this already and they say they will charge me all it cost to install plus% of unpaid subs for the rest of the contract term!

After being in touch with Consumer Council, rather than write to Sky directly, I sent a nice E Mail to The Director's office for the attention of Jeremy.darroch@bskyb.com.(This name was posted by some kind person whose name I have forgotton, sorry,)
I just has a telephonbe call from the HO, and a very nice man told me that they were extremely upset about the way I have been treated by their Customer Services dept. He apologised profusely, has organised the vouchers to be sent to me recorded delivery I should get them tomorrow, not only that, but he has reduced my monthly payment plan by £8.50 for 6 months!
How good is that. I would like to thank the person who put Jeremy Darrochs name as a contact on this thread.
