Hi
over the last couple of days while listening to local radio on my desktop computer and browsing the sites at the same time ...bbc/facebook etc... it all goes...and a message saying sorry firefox has crashed comes up.
it's just a simple matter of clicking on restore and it all comes back...any idea why this is happening?

Which version of Firefox are you using?
This morning I upgraded from 3.5.6 to 3.5.7 and could not access the internet at all. Couldn't even logon to my router. All was fine with IE7.
Had to un-install 3.5.7 and re-install 3.5.6. Tried 3.5.7. a 2nd time and again no go.
I will be sticking with 3.5.6 until this is resolved.

There is no problem with Firefox 3.5.7. What firewall are you using? The beta version of 3.5.7 was released on 23 December and the official release two days ago. Absolutely no problems running it here. Blue text on this forum usually signifies hyperlinks, so click on them!..:wall:0 -

Firewall is Zonealarm 8. Didn't think it was a problem for everyone, just maybe for some (or maybe just me!).
I tried a 2nd update to 3.5.7 as well as a clean install of 3.5.7.
Firewall didn't flag up anything and I haven't had problems with Firefox updates before.
I will investigate ZA when I get a minute or two. Thanks.

Haven't used ZA for a long time now but as the FF program has changed, you will need to make FF trusted again in ZA. Blue text on this forum usually signifies hyperlinks, so click on them!..:wall:0 -
Just had a look at ZA. Lots of entries for FF in "Program Control", all set to "ask". I removed them all, updated to FF 3.5.7 and ZA then asked me if I wanted to allow FF to access the Internet. Must have been ZA getting its knickers in a twist + me needing to get online asap earlier.
Cheers for that

Good - just didn't want other readers thinking that the latest release should be avoided.HoofeHearted wrote: »Just had a look at ZA. Lots of entries for FF in "Program Control", all set to "ask". You still haven't told us which version of Firefox you are running
However, I suspect that Firefox is slowing down because of all the things you have asked it to do. Firefox is a !!!!!! for hogging memory and eventually seizes up. occasionally this results in it crashing (in my experience).
Have a look at the "Mem Usage" it is using in "Task Manager".

I had to get rid of Zonealarm as it was blocking my internet access randomly and also stopped Firefox from being forcely shutdown. Only a reboot which took about 20 mins or a hard shutdown to get the internet working for 5 minutes before it happened again.
I moved over to Comodo and not had any problems.Survey earnings total 2009 £417, 2010 £875, 2011 £5740 -
I'm not sure what version of firefox it is ...how would I find out?...also how do I get to task manager?....thanks0
