OH NO!! Wrong package sent!!!

I'm having one of those days today where everything I touch is turning pear shaped!!!I sold 4 items on Ebay this week, 3 of the items have been paid for, but one of them I'm still awaiting payment. So of course, I've posted the item to the person that hasn't paid and not posted one of the items that has been paid for. I've sent the buyer an email, asking her to send me payment as soon as possible, but looking at her feedback, she's got a neg recently for non-payment but she says she was away.So fingers crossed she's just on holiday and will send me payment ASAP.Fortunately the item was only £3 so I won't lose out if she doesn't pay!Oh, and I'll probably have to email the other buyer that won't receive her parcel cos I've not posted it yet!!

I sent a paperback book on A-level biology to an Amazon buyer... except that he'd ordered the huge hardback textbook on A-level biology!

He contacted me, so I emailed him back and apologised. Packaged up the textbook and sent it first class, enclosing some stamps for the return of the paperback.

    I'm quite a few £s worse off than when I started :(
    My TV is broken!
Edit: refunded £515 for TV 1.5 years out of warranty - thank you Sale of Goods Act! :j

Dont be too hard on yourself - its the law of averages. If you post 100 things at least one statisically has got to be wrong. So hey you have done your wrong one, and at a cheaper price, so the next 99 will be perfect !!
Its the people who have posted 99 items without one being wrong that I feel sorry for.... :p

Oh !! :( i really hope the buyer pays you what they owe, i personally can't understand when i read about things like this and people don't send payment when they've accidentally been sent the goods before payment has been received. How do these people live with themselves ? theiving barstewards in my eyes

Just on another note tho and more upbeat, a guy sent me the wrong item and sent mine to someone else, i contacted him to explain, he was so apologetic and couldn't have been more helpful. The other buyer and i contacted each other and arranged to swap items. The seller refunded us both in full for the mix up and both people turned out to be really genuine and helpful human beings. I beleive the majority are really the good guys, shame theres always the odd one to spoil things :(
Nobody can make you feel inferior, without your permission ;)

Ditto. There are really good people out there. So far only twice been sent the wrong thing, like red instead of black and large instead of micro. Both times, sellers were so apologetic, so incredibly polite offering refunds etc., that both times I kept the items and took the chance of selling on, and left pos feedback.

Thanks for all your encouraging messages.

I haven't heard from her yet, I'm hoping she's on holiday or something!!

It's definitely a lesson learned, and I won't do it again!!

Its easily done, hopefully you will get your payment. The only consolation for you is if you do not receive the money it thankfully is a small amount (not the entire point I know but it could have been a lot worse for you) You never know this may !!!!! their conscience and your payment will wing its way to you.

I did something similar recently. I had listed 2 different CD's by the same artist. One sold, one didn't. I posted the wrong one. Neither me or the buyer noticed for about 2 weeks. He emailed and said I love the CD but just realised its not the one I won! He was fine about it. I was mortified. In the end I decided that by the time I have sorted out sending it back and reposting the other one etc it would be better and a nice gesture to send the other one to him and he could keep the original as well. Only cost me 80pish to post so no great loss. He sent me the nicest feedback.

My point, there is one honest, is that most people will make the occasional mistake and most people will go out of their way to help you resolve an issue. We tend to only discuss the bad experiences but there are many good ones too.

I hope this works out OK for you.

I sold some DVD's I no longer watched on ebay. I was really embarrassed when someone e-mailed me and said the film on the disc was different to the one they had bought. I had to e-mail the person who bought that film and ask what they had in their DVD box. I then had to arrange for the discs to be swopped, but thankfully both parties we nice and just had a good laugh at my expense!
Here I go again on my own....

At least it wasnt one of those urban myths and something more embarrasing was in the DVD box ;)
