You can withhold a number no matter who you call - unless they have chosen to block calls from with-held numbersand then you just can't call them but get a message instead
0800 numbers and other such numbers (0906 and 0870 etc are just a "public face" number that will route to a box standard number or numbers. So if you have an 0800 number then it will be routed to a normal landline but at no cost to the caller (there is usually a charge to the 0800 number owner - used to be 8p a min but that was YEARS ago).DFW Nerd #025DFW no more!
