They did the same to me yesterday, and like you, the assistants didnt care when I spoke to them. They also didnt tell me that the order had been cancelled, I didnt know it had been until I phoned the "help" line to find out where it was! And the bad news is it may take 10 days for the money to go back into my bank account. Not good! And they just dont care! I emailed with a complaint, and have had no response, so am in the middle of writing a very strongly worded letter!

Even though I work for a rival supermarket ( some of whose drivers didnt return till 2am this morning).Give them a breakToday some staff walked for hours to get to and from supermarkets. there was only a skeleton staff in many shops . None of our shops didnt open in our chain as far as I know.

But the big point of the post below was the staff didn't care.
Well done to the staff that did make it in, but those that made it in then didn't care about the problems they are paid to solve may as well have stayed at home.0 -
The fact that the order was cancelled wasn't the issue - the weather is very bad and that cant be helped. What has annoyes me was the attitude of the helpline staff, and the fact that Asda still have my money! I am a lone parent with a disabled child on a very very tight budget, and I cannot afford Asda to hang onto £70 of it! I had to borrow money off a mate so I could get to the shop and get my shopping. Anyone who makes it to work at the moment has my admiration, but like I said, thats not the issue here0

hi,
this is my first post, been a lurker for a while.
the same thing has happened to me. i had a delivery due yesterday from asda. they rang me the night before and said there is a chance it might not be delivered due to the weather and they would ring me back wednesday morning to let me know if it would be delivered. but by 11:00 i had no call from them, but they had took the payment from my account so i tought the delivery must be on its way. i phoned the number they rang me from wich was the shop in edinburgh and was told deliveries had been cancelled and a collegue would be calling me within half an hour to talk me through the procedure. i wasnt in when she phoned, (i went to my local co op. but by that time there was no bread & no milk) but she left a message saying no deliveries and it will take upto 10 days for a refund.
i completely understand there is nothing they can do about the weather, and dont blame them for not delivering in this weather, i wouldnt want to travel that far, but they took my money after they knew it may not be delivered, im on a very low income with 2 kids that could eat for scotland (especialy with them being off school) so asda have taken all the money i have available for shopping and dont seem to want to help.
when i spoke to the lady in the shop, she was very pleasant and understanding, however nothing she could do. so to try and save money i sent a message online to asda instead of phoning there 0844 number. and today i still didnt have a reply, so i phoned the exspensive number, waited ages in the cue, and the lady told me asda have not taken my money, that its only in a holding account. well its still not in my account, it was asda that put it there. so she then told me i had to ring my bank for a code. and told me she would phone back in 10 minutes to get the code so she could refund. but when i spoke to my bank i was told they would have the code as it appears on your reciept, and it is not available at the branch, she could try and get hold of it for me but it may be monday before she gts it.
anyway that was over an hour ago, and still no phone call back from asda. still no reply to my message either. the whole reason i use asda is there is no large supermarket in my area, i need to travel to the next town for my main shopping, and use public transport as i dont drive.
now im looking on there website on how to complain and cant seem to find out what to do. dont realy want to phone them back as that will end up costing even more.
sorry for the long rant, its just so frustrating. surely they should change the procedure of how they take your money, to avoid people being left in this situation0 -

...alternatively you could just post on this thread for all to see? Which I think makes more sense.0
